ATH-A500, 700 or 900? They're pretty huge themselves and should fit anyone. Low impendance means they're fit for portable use..and I find they have ample bass.- Weimar

Music for Outdoors
Does commuting count as outside? I mean, you're mostly sitting still in a heated place :P About dangers, when I bike with my cx-300's I just look around a lot more at crossings etc. It almost seems safer. I prefer rock/metal to keep my pace going. -
Where I can try out headphones in NYC?
Audio cubes has a store called AC gears in NY right? They stock Audio Technica's. No idea if they're audible though but I see no reason why not.- Weimar

Headphone Tube Amp as Preamp
I'm running a MK III as a preamp as well. In fact, I was originally looking for a cheaper preamp so that I wouldn't be plugging cables in and out the back of my PC (Auzentech prelude). I now have my speakers (AV-40's) permanently hooked up to my MK III. I alternate between them and my headphones...- Weimar

Sennheiser HD650...Yes or No?
I'm picking up a second hand locally for €150! Very excited if only for the fact that the cheapest I can get it new for is €100 more, and a lot of stores go way over that.. hope it'll do well with my LD MKIII, using Mazda (I know, wut?) EF91 tubes.- Weimar
