I find the comfort intolerable. So much so that I am selling mine after only a couple of hours use. Stretching the band helped with the clamping, but the pads are way too stiff and they put pressure on a sensitive spot on my skull do to lack of headband padding. M40fs are way more comfortable...

AD700 bass is pretty weak. If you want phones that can compete with a sub, try DT770 Pro/80s or M50s.

The DT770 Pro/80s are exactly what you are looking for and cost about $150 new on ebay. Despite the above post, they are very definitely audiophile headphones.
