The Deals DISCUSSION Thread (READ THE FIRST POST!!!)

How about the Monoprice 8323 paired with the Vmoda Boom Mic cable. I've got this for work and it sounds surprisingly good on both ends. Price for both parts is <$55 from Amazon.

Is MEElectronics M6 Still the Best Running/Workout Earphones?

Just saw this on the deals thread: http://www.groupon.com/deals/gg-meelectronics-headphones-1?utm_source=rvs&utm_medium=afl&utm_campaign=6146845

    Female jacks for dual-entry K702's?

Why not just use another 3-pin xlr jack like on the left cup.  You might be able to just replace the right cover with another left cover.  Looking at this:http://www.akg.com/mediendatenbank2/psfile/datei/4/k70248b2a8664eaf0.pdf it looks like you can order replacement parts directly from AKG.  In...

    CMoy unbalanced volume

If you have a volume pot, check that to make sure the resistance is the same on left and right channels.  I've had cheapo pots that were as much as 20% different from left to right.

Best closed circumaural hp for less than $60

Quote: After stuffing a little foam in the ear pads, the phones don't touch my ears at all.   Stock for stock, the HD428 and the RX700 are close in overall sound quality.  The RX700 have a little more bass but the mids are more recessed than the HD428.   The RX700 do warm my ears...

Best closed circumaural hp for less than $60

You might wanna consider the JVC HA-RX700.  I've got those, the HD428 and the MDR-XD200 and my favorites by far are the RX700.  I will say that out of the box, the competition is closer but with a couple of easy mods (felt and foam mods), the RX700s are awesome.  The only negatives for me were...

    Are Senn HD438s and upgrade

I've currently got a set of JVC RX700s that I've modified (recable, foam spacers, dampened cups, and felt mod). I'm in the middle of a major bout of upgraditis and wonder if the HD438s would be enough of an upgrade to warrant the cost. If not, then are any in the ~100 range that are a good...

Sony MDR-V6 too bright & fatiguing - how does JVC HA-RX700 compare?

The RX700s are so comfortable that I can wear them all day at work with no problem, though they are a little warm (like ear muffs). They isolate some. Not as much as IEMs but enough to cut a good amount of background noise. As for sound... they are good. Warm, a little bass heavy but with...

    Green Ear Syndrome.....

I've got the same problem. It's corrosion. Guess it's time to upgrade or replace the cable.

    JVC harx700 - a poor mans ath-a900!!

I've got both the e2c's and the RX700s. The pros and cons of each are as follows (IMHO): e2c - cooler sound, though not analytic like the etymotics pros - isolation, portable, forward midrange cons - lacks bass, cable hardens and cracks after extend use, lacks clarity RX700 - warm sound...

    Micro water pumps?

Why not work the problem from the other way? You can get an adapter that converts your kitchen faucet output to be able to connect to a garden hose. Then you could install a drip irrigation kit set up with a timer. For example: Adapter: Aquarium Accessories - Python Products (bottom of the...

Looking for cheap in ear headphones for podcasts with greatest sound isolation

Just to throw my $.02 in.... I've got a pair of Creative ep-630s that I use to do lawn work (mowing, gardening, etc.) I got the comply tips for them and they provide GREAT isolation. So good that my wife can't get my attention from 10 feet away without yelling. The sound isn't awesome, but...

Which dac+amp can switch between them?

What about a separate portable DAC and AMP combo? This way you only have to carry the DAC between home and work and you can leave the amp at work. Also, what's the possibility of a DIY project? Bantam/Gamma1 DAC with a Mini>3 or one of the many cmoy versions makes a nice combo and is fairly...
