mx500 and mx400 leak out way too much sound and it bothers people around you if you listen to them on high volumes on public transport (not like you have a choice, there is pretty much no isolation and its worse when there are no foamies)

I have the MX500... terrible when you are on the train or in a noisy environment which makes them pointless unless you want to have them on 17/25 volume which probably will damage your ears in the long run. Just ordered some of the Sharp HP-MD33 so I will let you know how I go..

Yes, audio equipment WILL make you poor. I have spent plenty of money in the past few months on equipment.. not to mention the amount of music CD's I have now bought thanks to me being able to easily tell the difference between mp3 and cd audio now with my Beyer DT531
