yeah i was thinking of the x3i but the build quality sounds so horrible i want something i know will last. any other suggestions?

im looking for some cheap iems that have decent isolation. So far all ive come up with are the j-jays and the denon c351. What do you guys suggest? one other thing, how well do the denon 551's isolate? i was interested in them but apparently they dont isolate very well?

it could be your x-fi causing the problems. there have been many documentated cases of x-fis making popping and cracking noises.

if youre just getting this for gaming I think the a500 should be more than enough.

yeah, but all the OP wants is to eliminate the hiss, so he just needs to use volume control to slightly lower the volume and use the DAP's controls as the main volume control, so using a volume control cord will work fine for him. no need for anything fancy.

yeah i've bought shures a long time ago from fry's to test them out because of their excellent return policy, problem is their prices are so jacked up i'd have to drop like $300 to demo the se310s and etc and i just dont feel comfortable doing that again. anyways, next time im at the mall ill...
