    Low gain or High gain?

What gain do you normally use? That is, I'm using a small dongle with a Sennheiser HD 660 S. If I have more than enough volume on low gain (2 Vrms), should I stay on low gain while ignoring high gain (4 Vrms)? What is generally recommended?

I am tempted by the HD 800 S

I really like Sennheiser headphones, I have the 600 and 660S. I also had the 6XX, but it felt weaker than the other two. Since I am often seeing used 800S at a good price, even under € 500, I am thinking about it seriously. For those who have heard both: do the 600 or 660S something better...

    7hz Timeless or Sennheiser IE300?

For a very minimal setup, I'll use a simple Apple USB C connected to the smartphone and UAPP. Etymotic ER4XR for 320 € Sennheiser IE 300 for 220 € Of the ER4XRs I am a bit scared by the very deep insertion, while IE 300 are described by the owners as among the most comfortable IEMs ever...

What do you think of Hifiman Ananda?

I am almost convinced to buy it. I can't try it before, but from what I've read it should be one of the best options under $ 1000, with the neutral and slightly bright sound I'm looking for, easy enough to drive. I will be using Chord Mojo and Dragonfly Cobalt. Has anyone or had it and made...

    First desktop setup

I have a Chord Mojo and a Dragonfly Cobalt - which I will probably sell - and an AKG K712 Pro. Maybe I will also buy a planar, Hifiman or Audeze. I would like some help with a first desktop configuration. Something with a good SQ of course, and good driving power even for less efficient...

    Headphone for Dragonfly Cobalt

I bought a Dragonfly Cobalt, I don't care about measurements, it is the best sounding portable device I have ever tried, far superior to the Chinese dongles I have had. And it's much more practical than battery-powered devices. Now I need a good over-ear headphone that matches well with Cobalt...

    Alternative to iems

I would like something to alternate with iems because after a while I get tired of keeping them in my ears. I am evaluating both closed headphones and earbuds. First I thought about AKG K371 which I had read good things about. Let's say that this would be the maximum budget, around 120€. I...
