Earn Money In My Spare Time???
I have a few expenses coming up and was thinking about taking on a temporary part time job. I've seen the ads for mystery shoppers, typists, pet food slingers and selling pen*s enhancers, etc. I was wondering if anyone actually tried these odd jobs and what were the results? Would I be better...- BrookR1

Nugaze
Ever since updating my shoegaze collection (and signing onto eMusic a couple of years ago) I've come to love this genre. Although it will never sound as raw 60s-ish as shoegaze, I really love some of the 80s influences that that nugaze draws upon. A few of my favorites: Film School Airiel... -
Found treasure today!
So my girlfriend and I were thinking about moving in together and we decided to go through the closet of doom...schtuff I had been collecting for a very long time. I actually have 3 closets of doom....boxes piled high to the ceiling filled with little nicknacks I had been collecting since I...- BrookR1

That's what that wire is for! (newb turntable mistake)
On a whim I purchased a Dual 522 turntable...very used...for $65. To get to the electronics, you have to remove the staples off of the bottom that fasten the plastic bits to the wood body. Anyway, I brought it home, dusted off my 15 year old receiver and plugged the RCA jacks into the back...- BrookR1

I dare you to...(game)
Just thought up of a game. To play, you have to have the headphone listed and then download the song (eMusic or iTunes). The object is to have fun with the headphones/songs listed. Make sure the volume is goon n' high...but not enough to damage your ears. Headphone: DT770 Artist: D:Fuse...- BrookR1

K601 or HD600
I'm looking for something a little different and these two HPs are on my radar. I'm only interested in hearing from people that have heard both. Which is livelier? Which is more detailed? Which is darker/brighter? Which would work best out of my E-MU 0404? Which is more fun? Thanks...- BrookR1

Can't blame this guy
With all of the Grado madness going on, I think this guy's timing is absolutely perfect. http://cgi.ebay.com/GRADO-HP1-HP-100...QQcmdZViewItem- BrookR1

Best can for industrial?
No...it's not a Gradossandro. These are great cans, but for industrial, I think they're too bright and the mids are too forward. I think Senns are good for electronic, so I guess I'm looking for a can that somehow blends good guitar energy with a decent sound stage, and something that's decent...- BrookR1

LD2++ hooked up to a E-MU 0404
Does anyone know if this will work? I know the LDM has 2 RCA jacks, but I'm trying to figure out where they would connect to the E-MU.- BrookR1

MS-1 vs. SR-60
I'm not asking for advice on which one to buy...I already have both. I'm just listing the differences I perceive between the two. So, I've heard over and over and over that the MS-1s are better than the SR-80s...and have read that they are more "laid back" and more refined, and that they lie...- BrookR1

Caller ID etiquette
So I have caller ID on my cell (of course) and every now and then I'll receive a call from a number that doesn't leave a message. Their number still displays on my phone and I have the urge to call right back, but think that I shouldn't because they never left a message. I have a hunch it's from...- BrookR1

I won the "other" auction...
Woo hoo... For $31 I snagged a brand new unopened pair of SR-40s. Signed by the man himself. My own little piece of Grado history. I'll display them proudly in my cubicle at work.- BrookR1

Here it is...the Ultrasone iCans review
Intro What do I do when I get a little extra money? Spend it on headphones of course. As you can tell, I love open portable headphones. They look less conspicuous at work and fit in nicely with my active lifestyle. I spend quite a bit of time riding a bike and walking. It's actually my...- BrookR1

EMU 0404->RA1 (or hybrid)->Grados????
Does anyone see any problems with going from an EMU 0404 to an RA1 to my Grados? This will be my first amp (aside from the one in the EMU). I'm debating between the RA1 and a millet hybrid, but I've read the synergy between the RA1 and Grados is really good. Thanks- BrookR1

325i, MS-2i, HF-1, or RS-2?
Which would you purchase? Would you base your decision on sound quality, because it's a collectors item, or because of price?- BrookR1

Downward Spiral -- Remastered
Does anyone have the original version? I have it stashed away in storage and was too lazy to pull it out...so I bought the remastered version of The Downward Spiral. I've never listened to the CD on headphones before...only in my car and on my speakers. I don't recall this CD being this... -
Ultra Vivid Scene
Holy carp...how did I miss this band? Well...I'm blaming bad radio...but still...what a terrific group. They sound to me like a very refined Peter Murphy. These guys are what Peter Murphy should have been. I take it back...they really aren't like PM, but they still sound good. -
KSC75/PX100/iGrado Comparo?
Anyone interested in reading a new review? I can update my older thread to include the KSC 75....but I don't want to waste time if only three people will read it. Any other portable headphones you'd like to see reviewed? I'm feeling experi(mental).- BrookR1

Went to DXC and bought the KSC75s
A buddy and I did a little mini L.A. tour. We started out in Newport Beach, drove up to Watts to see the Watts Towers (yes, it was daylight), drove through downtown L.A. and then stopped in Santa Monica and the DXC store. I really like that place, although it's much smaller than I imagined. I...- BrookR1
