Looking for one EL2008 buffer
Does anybody know where I can find the EL2008? I already have two, so I only need one more for a portable PPA. Maybe somebody has one they don't use? I don't mind if it's used.- Jupiter

Buffer instead of amp for low impedance headphones
I was thinking about getting rid of the opamp(s) (or other components) in the signal path that's not needed when I don't need to amplify the signal. Has anybody tried using a buffer with a volume control instead of an amp for low impedance headphones? I have a few EL2009, would those work...- Jupiter

PPA questions
I'm planning to build a PPA with EL2009 buffers. I have two questions at the moment: 1) Are there any opamps that matches the EL2009 particularly well? 2) Which C1 caps (cost no object) will perform best for the PPA? Big capacitance Panasonics or smaller capacitance Elna/Black Gates caps...- Jupiter

Gilmore Dynamic DC offset
Is it normal that the DC offset on the Gilmore dynamic is drifting? Below is graph of the DC offset from my amp. Sample time is 1 second. (For instance, at 500 seconds the dc offset is -1.0 mV.) Is my amp OK or is there something wrong here?- Jupiter

Digital section for I/V board
I'm considering building a DAC with the Borbely I/V board (on sale from audiokits.com), but I need some suggestions for the digital section. I'm looking for something with digital XLR input. Also, if someone know of a simple digital section that I could use for testing and as a temp solution...- Jupiter

Gilmore Dynamic question
I building the Gilmore Dynamic with external power supply and I'll probably have a 6 feet cord between the amp and power supply. My question is, should I move some of the 5uf caps from the power supply to the amp? You want the caps as close to the amp as possible, right?- Jupiter

Borbely headphone amp
I was looking around for a DIY DAC and came across a headphone amp from Borbely sold by audiokits.com. It's a singel ended class A design. I got a quote for $37.83 for the amp PCB (two channels) and $37.83 for the power supply PCB (dual, I think). Pretty reasonable, if you consider that the...- Jupiter

What kind of heat sinks are needed for the 2SC3675 transistors in the KGSS amp (Kevin Gilmore Current-Domain Electrostatic)? Should I use heat sinks that can dissipate more than 3 watts? And with what thermal resistance?- Jupiter

META42 output impedance
In what range should the output impedance for the META42 be? And should there be a big difference between the left and the right channel? I'm getting 0 and 28 ohms, so I guess something is seriously wrong.- Jupiter

META42 for etys
I'm building a portable META42 (my second DIY amp) for my Etymotics ER-4S. Will the suggested parts at tangent's web site make a good amp for my etys or should I make some substitutions/upgrades? I was planning on using the META42 in my portable setup when it's finished, so I don't mind...- Jupiter
