Playing music through my QNAP TS-251 NAS, or through my Marantz NR-1504 receiver?
Hi all. I have the two devices a QNAP TS-251 NAS connected to my Marantz receiver. I also have the option of playing direct on the receiver a Marantz NR-1504. The difference is, when I play through the QNAP, the music is played as PCM and the kHz frequency and bitrate is correct. Through...- ZMan2k2

Best basshead BA IEM's
Hey guys. I'm considering getting some BA IEM's, to try something I've never tried before. The closest I've comet to BA IEM's is the Aurisonics 2.5 hybrid. Right now, I have some Aurisonics Kicker IEMs, and they are good, don't get me wrong, but the grass is always greener, right? I'm on a...- ZMan2k2

LG G5 with wait, or new LG V10 now, in Canada?
So, with MMW announcements, we have the new G5 with the HiFi DAC add on. On the other hand, we have the LG V10, with an app in the app store that allows you to turn the DAC on and off with whatever you're using as headphones. In Canada, we don't warrant LG's love for the V10, and...- ZMan2k2

FiiO X3 OG or Sony NWZ-A17
I've been tossing around the idea of getting a new player. Right now, I have the FiiO X3 OG, and love the hardware bass/treble controls. I don't even use the EQ. I'm driving some Aurisonics Kicker IEM's. I love bass. I've read some of the Sony A10 thread, and I'm a little bit worried...- ZMan2k2

Want to use my phone as a DAP, but want it to be a phone too!
So, I currently have an X3 version 1, and I love the bass boost controls on it. I'm a dedicated basshead who rocks the Aurisonics ASG-2.5 IEM with full basshead extension. But lately, I've been seeing a switch in the DAP market to touchscreen, and I'm thinking I dig it. I've tried a...- ZMan2k2

DAP for a basshead.
Hi all. I've been researching lately, and had a Cozoy Aegis deal that fell through, so I'm on the hunt again. I had an original FiiO X3, but found the interface clunky, using the buttons and such. The fact that it couldn't read ID3 tags bothered me too. So, I moved to an X3ii. Bass was good...- ZMan2k2

HELP! I need to get an undewater P/S camera for anniversary gift.
I'm lost. I've been looking at reviews, specs, and everything else, and can't decide on a camera for my wife for our anniversary. Our old camera, a Canon PowerShot D20 got water in it, and died. She loved that thing, and said the pictures were great with it, both underwater and on land...- ZMan2k2

Needing suggestions for new XBoxOne headset.
I'm thinking of a new headset for my XBO. Currently, I'm using either some UE6000 overears with a V-Moda cable for mic, or some IEM's with an android style plug, for the mic. I'm considering going to a dedicated gaming setup, with a boom-mic and over ears. What is everyone else using? I've been...- ZMan2k2

Online music streaming sites that work in Canada?
I've read quite a bit lately about Tidal, but see it's only available in the US and UK. Are there any high quality (FLAC or the like) that are available in Canada? Right now I use TuneIn radio on my Galaxy S5, but some of my favorite stations are no longer available. Anyone know of anything? -
Bluetooth IEM's with good build quality and sound.
I'm in the market for some BT IEM's, and have done some research on the forums thus far. This is what I've found. -JayBird Bluebuds X - Highly recommended for many, although I'd need to purchase Comply tips to make the sound better. -Beats PowerBeats 2 - Pricey, bass heavy (not a bad thing...- ZMan2k2

Some top Android phones to be used as all-in-one device.
Sorry all, I'm in the Dominican Republic and my week old Sony phone got wet, and Sony won't honor the warranty because it's water damage, even though they advertise it as waterproof. Anyways, when I get back to Canada, I'm going to need a new phone. I don't want to use an external DAC, just the...- ZMan2k2

Sony will NOT honor their warranty.
I purchased a Z3Compact two weeks ago, because I loved the audio output, andwas in love with their water and dustproof warranty. Unfortunately, on my trip to the Dominican, my phone got wet, and now Sony says water damage is not covered under warranty. Even though inthe manual, it specifically...- ZMan2k2

I have a question regarding tags on my FLAC files.
I have a lot of files, and I rip them using dbPoweramp. Some files, when played on my Fiio X3, display simply "##- song name.flac", while others display "##- band name - song name.flac". How difficult would it be to remove the band name from the display, so all I have is the song name. I'd...- ZMan2k2

I need DAP advice, keep my X3, wait for the X3K, or buy an X1
Hey guys. I don't have anything to compare them to, except my X3, but I'm really interested in the scroll wheel of the X1 and X5. I have the X3, and I love the bass boost function, as it really brings to life my Atrio MG7's. That's what I'd use with any of these DAPs. I'm not sure I need the...- ZMan2k2

Need recommendations for IEM's that mesh well with the Fiio X3
As mentioned, I have a Fiio X3. I listen to it pretty much with treble flat, bass at +10, and EQ off. So far, my old Atrio MG7's are the best with it, giving me a clear sound, and plenty of bass. Yes, I'm a basshead, so bass is important in recommendations. I have some Beats by Dre Tour V2's...- ZMan2k2

Comply foam tips - "Comfort" vs. "Isolation"?
I use the comply tips Tx400 because of the wax guard. Gives me a little extra comfort in knowing I can't gum up the filters on my IEM's. But I see now they have the comfort tips with wax guards. Is there any loss of isolation when using the comfort tips, and if so, is it bad? I use my IEM's...- ZMan2k2

Recommendations wanted. Looking for IEM's, $200 CAN or less, for diverse music selections.
So, I'm reading all these threads, and trying to decide what IEM I should go for next. I have a Fiio X3 player, playing a diverse selection of FLAC files, everything from rap, metal, rock, classical, jazz, vocals etc., just no country. Anyways, right now, I find that my old Atrio MG7 IEM's fit...- ZMan2k2

JVC HA-MR55x Bass headphones, are the highs supposed to be so veiled?
I bought them, debated even opening them, and did at the end. Tried them, and the highs were extremely veiled, muffled, whatever you want to call it. I am using them straight from my iPod classic, and was really underwhelmed with them. My UE 6000's sound so much better. I was hoping for a...- ZMan2k2

So I've been looking for gaming/music headphones....
I've done my research, looking for something I can use on airplanes with my iPod, and connect to my XBoxOne to game and chat. Not as easy as it sounds. Apple style headphones don't work with the XBoxOne (shock!), so I had to find something that could convert Apple headphones to the CTIA style...- ZMan2k2

Reviews on the Sony MDR10RNC noise cancelling headphones.
Does anyone have any experience with these? They've caught my eye for air travel, and the possibility of using them with my XBox One. All the online reviews have them at 4-4.5 stars, but I'm wondering what the head-fi community has to say? Thanks- ZMan2k2

Jaybird Bluebuds X bluetooth IEM's

Should I hear a difference between my old iPhone 3Gs and my Samsung GS3?
I did a comparo between the two, using my favorite Pink Floyd Album WYWH. Needless to say, I know the album by heart. I did an ab comparo, and really couldn't hear a difference. On the iPhone, I used the stock player no EQ, and on the SGS3 I used PowerAmp with no EQ. All I had to do was...- ZMan2k2

Jaybird Freedom or Freedom Spirit BT Headphones, any new users?
I'm seriously considering these, not sure which ones yet. My Galaxy SIII gets pretty good performance from the BT antenna in it, as I can go about 25 ft. from the phone with my Jawbone Era before I get breakup. The last review I read was about the iPhone4, which had a weak BT antenna in...- ZMan2k2
