Recommend me super-cheap cans.
I'm looking for a pair of cans for <20 USD shipped. No clip-ons, earbuds or canalphones. Don't really care if it's isolating or not, as long as it doesn't leak too much. (No Gradoesque phones). Comfort is priority, and if I don't get any good suggestions I'll buy a cheap pair of Maxell HP-2000...- Jman999

Panasonic RP-HT711: Impressions
I bought these off headphones off of ebay for <$20 not expecting much. Trying different sources and amps with this headphone didn't really do much to improve the sound. The sound is in few a words: tinny, distant and harsh but for my purposes it is fully acceptable. Maybe the sound will change...- Jman999

Maxell HP-2000
It is a good buy for $6 including shipping? When I have the money I want to spring for the Beyer. DT-250-250, but right now I have to buy a new monitor. Also I really want headphones with velour pads and the Maxells are pretty much the only ones that do this for under $10. Thanks...- Jman999

Closed Cans with Good Mids
What closed cans (need to provide at least moderate isolation) out there have good, fun, forward-sounding mids? I don't know want to specify a price, because if there is one that is particularly good, but expensive, I might save up for it. So far the good closed cans I know of are: AKG...- Jman999

Cheap cans for electric keyboard?
My brother plays keyboard, He's using (Gasp!) Sony CD180s! They deserve to sit next to Sony MDR-V600 in terms of quality, in comparison to the HD497 they are terrble. My budget is around $30 or less. No preference for open or closed but must not leak a ton of sound like Grados. Perhaps some used...- Jman999

A500 comfort?
How comfortable are the A500? I've read a lot here, but I'm still not sure about them, because the last phone that I tried with pleather pads, the HD497, was horribly uncomfortable. Every time I moved even slightly they creaked loudly. They didn't feel very good against my ears either, so I'm...- Jman999

Where to buy DT231?
Is there a place where I can buy this locally? I live in Marietta, GA and want to be able to return these if I don't like them. Would Guitar Center have these in stock? Otherwise I'll probably buy these from TTVJ, as I understand he has a good return policy and an excellent reputation...- Jman999

Senn. HD-25 questions
Has anyone who has glasses used these? Do they clamp too tightly? Also, my source is currently a Chaintech AV-710. How does the HD-25 sound directly out of the Chaintech? However, most of my music currently is low quality mp3s. Are the HD-25-1 at ALL forgiving? I'm going to start amassing a...- Jman999

Place to try-on headphones
Is there a place where I go and try on some of the headphone models I'm interested in? Or at least where I can buy them and easily return them if I don't like them? Comfort is a really big issue for me; I have a small head and small ears. In particular, I am interested in the Senn. HD-25-1...- Jman999

Need Advice: Getting rid of Speaker rig for headphones
Not sure if this is the right forum, but here goes... I have an Onkyo HT-R410 receiver hooked up to a pair of HKB6 speakers. Need "Exciting" Closed Phones
I need a good pair of closed headphones for under $150 including shipping, used or new as long as they're in good condition. My setup is the following: Chaintech AV-710 flashed to Prodigy--> Onkyo HT-R410 via optical out -->? I need a decent amount of isolation, at least enough to block out...- Jman999

SunnyTech Headphones
There are several different 5.1 headphones listed at listentobelieve.com including one that uses a digital connection. Now I know that most people here think that surround sound headphones aren't worth it, but I'd still like to find out more about thse particular headphones. Thanks, Jonathan.- Jman999

Audio Technica ATH-AXXX
I'm currently looking at the Audio Technica ATH-A500 or A900 to replace my Senn. HD497 which I'm returning to radioshack. I have heard the sonic signature is in between that of Grados and Senns. Are they both comfortable headphones? I need them to be able to block out the nice of my computer...- Jman999

AKG K-501's vs. Senn HD590 vs. Beyer. DT-250
I'm looking to upgrade in comfort and sound quality from the Senn. HD497. I'm looking at these three phones, my price range is $90-130. From what I've read the Beyerdynamic and Sennheiser have stronger bass, while the AKG has stronger high-end. I'm going to be using these headphones for movies...- Jman999

Sennheser HD497's
I bought the HD497's from Radio Shack a couple days figuring I could return them if I didn't like them. I have them configured the following way: Chaintech AV-710 flashed to Prodigy--> Onkyo HT-R410 via optical out --> HD497's. As my first set of headphones I find that it has very good...- Jman999

First pair of REAL headphones, suggestions?
My budget is between $50 and $100. What are your suggestions for good headphones to be used for mostly music, but also for DVD's occasionally. So far I am looking at the HD497, the SR60's, and also the Alessandro MS-1. Radioshack has HD497 for $70 near me, so I am going to go over there and try...- Jman999

Program to Control Bass/Treble?
I'm currently using the built-in audio on motherboard. I would like to switch back to my Chaintech AV-710 however, the drivers lack bass/treble controls. Is there a program which can change bass/treble for all audio in Windows? Otherwise I'll have to stick with my nforce audio right now...- Jman999

Audio Results with Different Amps
I have a pair of Sansui SP5500X speakers. The best thing about these speakers is that due to their 15" woofers, they don't need a subwoofer. I have tested it with three different amps/receivers, 1.Onkyo HT-R410 5.1 Home Theater Receiver, (5X100Watts) 2.Sansui 777 Vintage 2 Channel Stereo...- Jman999

Sansui QH-44: Requires Amp?
Hey, I just found a pair of Sansui QH-44 Headphones. They are the most comfortable headphones I've ever tried on. I'm not sure how old they are, but they look vintage and utilize two 1/4" stereo connectors. My stereo receiver only has one headphone jack, so I was only able to plug one of the...- Jman999

Flashing Chaintech AV-710
I'm looking to flash the Chaintech AV-710 to the Prodigy drivers. I understand that this disables the analog sound, but that is ok, as I can always use my onboard sound for analog. Ok, I downloaded the utility needed to flash the card, but before I do it, how do I backup my current EEPROM...- Jman999

Onkyo HT-R410 Gets Very Hot
I have a Onkyo HT-R410 Receiver hooked up to one Sansui SP5500X speaker with very thin gauge wire. However the wire is a very short run, less than three feet. This is after an hour two at half volume or less. Does the heat mean the unit is at risk of blowing a fuse? The speaker it's...- Jman999
