I got a SR225x and went to a RS2x. There is quite a difference. But I think the original question was it worth the extra cost? If you have the budget to step up, then do it. If not enjoy what you have.

Yes, there is an output. I put my Vali 2++ in my speaker system and use it as a preamp. I would think that you could do the same with a Vali 3.

I've posted this before so sorry. I put the Vali 2++ into my speaker system when I got the Vali 3. I 've got a GE 5 Star 5670 in it. My wife stepped out to dinner with her friends, so I've got my Elac UB5's lit up. The Vali 2++ makes quite a preamp. Just an idea for you instead of selling it off.
