I use G Cush pads on my RS2x's and SR225x's because they sound good to me. You can change it up depending on your preference.

My WE396A cost me $75. I look at it as a treat. Just like a good dinner or bottle of bourbon. Which are gone the next morning if you will. I get to enjoy the sound of the tube over and over again. But if spending that kind of money makes you uncomfortable, there's plenty of 5670 tubes that...

I read a comment that I thought was accurate. Schiit wouldn't put a tube in the Vali 3 that they didn't think made their product sound good. So, while you can get other tubes and adapters to make it sound better, maybe the stock tube is good enough.

I have three tubes that I used with my Vali 2++. WE396A, GE 5 Star 5670 and GE Jan 5670W. To my ears, I liked the WE396A the best. That is the only one that I've tried in my Vali 3. I've read where others have preferred the different 5670's over the 396A. And that fine It's how it sounds to you.

I could hear a change when I went from the Vali 2++ to the Vali 3 with my WE396A tube. It took a good tube and made it sound better. If you can't tell a difference, that's ok. It's your ears and that's how you hear things.
