Because 99.99% of the population who use ANC headphones/iems couldn’t give a toss (quite rightly) for veils being lifted, I prob listen more with my AirPods 2 than anything else (apart from my hifi)

That would be interesting, but you may have an issue with volume matching with the different headphones being used regarding sensitivity/impedence. Either way it's a test that should be carried out, you can buy A/B/X testing rigs. Were they sighted tests?

But could you do it entirely unsighted?, with perfect DB matching?, all filters the same?, every time you make a mistake we remove a fingernail. :wink:

Zero 2, it’s a great iem but you may need to buy other ear tips to get a good seal as those included are not that good.

I’d say that audio experience of “enveloping sound” is 90% how the music was mixed/engineered and 10% the iem (Edit : I felt I should add this as my reply sounded rather curt, I did not mean it that way. We (our small group of folk) used to organise the dance music tents at The Wickerman...
