sometimes I have similar feelings with Monarchs too, I think its similar, but little better polished in Monarchs, you can try add +2db to 500 or 750 hz (Q1,5) and/or reduce 180hz by 1,5db Q1,5 , see if it helps.. foam tips greatly reduce 7.5khz peak, but also take decent about of "detail"...

I would take from Amazon, its 10% more expensive, but 14 days return.. if it doesnt suits you its still better than selling it at used market for 70%.

for me, fit was painful first 2-3 weeks, after that good fit! good ergonomics

You can try Etymotic ER2XR, very good natural timbre with kinda recesed hights, I loved them a LOT.

I also had this issue with LG V60 as a source, but with AK SR25 it doesnt bother me anymore. If I tried to reduce it, it really sounded liveless.

I also had Comply many times in cart, until I bought it, and have never been so disapointed :-D They degrade quality of sound to like 2$ IEM. At least in my case, and compared to Tri Clarion.
