aptX Adaptive / aptX Lossless USB Transmitters
QUOTED FROM' "What is Hi-Res" search: Hi-res audio files usually use a sampling frequency of 48kHz, 96kHz or 192kHz at 24-bit, but you can also have 88.2kHz and 176.4kHz files. So, 24/48 is Hi Res by definition.- CactusPete23

The New HIBY R3 II is here. 4.4MM Jack; Improved Sound and Bluetooth.
All Lithium batteries are best stored between 20 and 80%. These devices do not have poor charge protection. They have the same type of charge protection that all protected batteries have. In fact, that very protection circuit is what may be keeping your device from charging it's battery. If...- CactusPete23

Found this interesting. Things us audiophiles "worry" about, but probably should not. Video is about a home AV/Stereo System, not Headphones/IEMs. But I'm sure someone could do something similar fort headphones/IEMS and their associated DAP's. DAC's, Amps, Cables, etc.- CactusPete23

The Qudelix-5K thread
I would do 2 things that might improve sound: 1) Get a "powered Hub". These only send digital signal from your source and no possibly "dirty" power. The hub gets power from a "wall wart"; and that cleaner power goes to the Qudelix. (Example ONLY...- CactusPete23

It depends how they are wired. But often they would need rewiring. If you state the brand and model, I'm pretty sure someone will be able to tell you for that headphone.- CactusPete23

aptX Adaptive / aptX Lossless USB Transmitters
I guess I am not a purist in HiFi; Sometimes I like to listen to "Modified HiFi" !!! LOL, Depends on the music, and depends on where I am, depends on the device in my ears! If it sounds good and I enjoy the music, that's enough for me!- CactusPete23

Agree, I do think that some (Maybe a lot) or higher res recordings are actually Better Actual Records and Get Better Studio Processing Quality; Which can also 16/44.1 sound better. But a lot of CD's were made from poor Recording Quality Tapes, and Poor Studio Editing. So Higher Res often do...- CactusPete23

I Remember MEIZU, a Chinese MP3 Company went from making MP3 Players, to making Phones. So Moondrop will not be the first to try this. Looks Meizu still makes phones, but don't see a 3.5MM Jack in photos or specs. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806094713180.html I Also remember that 5+...- CactusPete23

aptX Adaptive / aptX Lossless USB Transmitters
My 16/44.1 FLAC music files are lossless, and they range from 700 to 900kbps. WAV @ 16/44.1 would need more bits, because it includes bits when nothing is there, where FLAC is Lossless, but removes any unnecessary data. So, 16/44.1 FLAC files should be easily able to be sent LOSSLESS with...- CactusPete23

The New HIBY R3 II is here. 4.4MM Jack; Improved Sound and Bluetooth.
Tidal was designed for the Android based devices. As the Hiby is not Android it is LINUX based; So a custom interface is needed; and that interface does not allow all TIDAL Functions. Believe this is a Tidal Limitation for non-android devices. (This is all that tidal licensed to Hiby for LINUX...- CactusPete23

Hope your new W4 solves your problems! However, If your jack is slightly (not visibly) corroded, it can reduce contact quality and put extra stress on both the male and female connectors. NEW HiBy R4
The screen is 4.7 inch diagonal, so size of the entire unit can be estimated... That is the only dimension I have seen. Those colorful "bumps" look to add some thickness; But unsure if that bump is needed for some internal components, or just for looks.- CactusPete23

Sorry if you've already checked this, but Wonder if your Sandisk Extreme Pro 1tb could be a fake? Can you actually play files from that...- CactusPete23

Agree. Sometimes even a single "font, character, or symbol" in the file tag can result in a scanning error. Can't explain why some Apps will scan and others will not. Maybe some APPs have a larger "library" of characters that they recognize and sort by?- CactusPete23

The Watercooler -- Impressions, philosophical discussion and general banter. Index on first page. All welcome.
Just my preference but I like the "old fashioned/(Analog)" volume wheels that continuously increase or decrease the sound; Like on my IFI Black Label iDSD. They let you quickly and precisely select the volume level. I don't like the digital wheels that only move in clicks; Because it seems...- CactusPete23
