Oh man, thanks again for this perfect hint! Of course I installed the Topping drivers with the DX9 connected 🤦♂️ ... a classical user problem . Today I'll try these drivers again with the correct setup method. Let's see.- droid23

DX260 Digital Audio Player, a New avenue to your music. Preorders have started. Easily replaceable battery. NEW Firmware Update! 2.02
For me, I unfortunately don't have a ZMF headphone yet, sorry. ...but I listen right now with the DCA E3, which is known that it's a demanding headphone when it comes to source gear, and I'm happy to report that together with the DX260, it's an utmost joy. Sure, I have to crank up the volume...- droid23

Dan Clark Audio E3 Review: Interview, Measurements, Impressions
I'm with both devices on high gain, but in the end I'm happy that my DX260 can drive the E3 absolutely sufficiently. And otherwise, the E3 are really wonderful cans, I'll keep them for a while.- droid23

Dan Clark Audio E3 Review: Interview, Measurements, Impressions
So, now the next head scratcher with the E3... How can it be that with my 7 Watt Topping DX9 I have to go between -45 to -15 dB to reach a medium to comfortably loud enough playback, but with my iBasso DX260, which has max. 1 Watt it is exactly the same region, 50-80 of 100... and it sounds...- droid23

Dan Clark Audio E3 Review: Interview, Measurements, Impressions
Gracias! :beerchug: In the end, I am still surprised how powerhungry the E3 is, when you have a really potent headphone amp at your hands like the DX9, and still end up nearly maxing it out.- droid23

Dan Clark Audio E3 Review: Interview, Measurements, Impressions
I know, thanks, I work in that field accidentally, but I'm not an electronic engineer obviously  I was not referring to dB itself but to the underlying power scaling which is most likely linear and not log, because you can hear the clicks of the solid state amplifier units switching...- droid23

Dan Clark Audio E3 Review: Interview, Measurements, Impressions
-99 dB is near zero output loudness. 0 db is max. So we have a 0-100 scale in -dB units which can be translated, step wise, in % and then reversed. -15 dB would be 85% of power used according to my understanding. When you look at the spec sheet of the DX9, it outputs: 10000mW × 2 @16Ω THD+N<1%...- droid23

Got mine today. OOTB impression, yes, they indeed sound pretty open, but I don't want to go into any more detail since I only have a few hours on them... ...but holy moly, they need some serious juice and they truly need the provided headroom of the rather powerful Topping DX9, I have to crank...- droid23

🎉 We have to celebrate 7000 pages! Poor newcomers, they need 3 years just to be up to date  ...imagine all the cheapo IEMs that will be bought and sold on the way until they reach the info that there's a KZ ZS10 Pro 2 and alike :deadhorse:- droid23

I have to make a bit of tabula rasa here and I'm going to sell some of my recently purchased IEMs to make space for the DITA and the H60. ..among them will be my DaVinci's and the SL41.- droid23

Try the DUNU Candy tips, they have only just a tad more open canal than the Final E... I'd say they are a small/medium bore and should be acoustically to your preferences. Alternatively, the Divinus Velvet tips, which are medium bore size could also shape the sound into the right directions...- droid23

DX260 Digital Audio Player, a New avenue to your music. Preorders have started. Easily replaceable battery. NEW Firmware Update! 2.02
Hehe, yeah it makes me happy, thanks for your kind words! ...but the other meaning of "happy" in this regard was how well these components work together for the final sound signature you get out of it. The case is simply the official iBasso case for the DX260  ...which (gladly) looks...- droid23

That's my current "Happy Setup"... all components result in a sweet but detailed synergy. Thanks to the DX260, the DUNU SA6 MkII can play as intended without much coloration from the DAP, but with clear details and energy. I wished that the Dunu's would have a bit more presence in the mid-treble...- droid23

Foobar2000 output settings unclear
You're completely right sir! You gave me the key learning here and things became much clearer now, because WASAPI was integrated in Foobar2000 from v2.x and higher. There is no longer WASAPI "event", "push", "shared" to select. Actually there's even no longer WASAPI at all! Now there is the...- droid23

Funny you say that, because the Harman group are -according to rumours- releasing a new adapted target curve in late 2024 because not only they found out that people are moving slowly away from the given Harman sound... Either people changed their listening preferences, ot the headphone/IEM...- droid23

Thanks for your Input, but I also don't have WASAPI shared to select in the list... strange, no shared, no exclusive... I wonder if the Topping Win driver interferes here with the Foobar outputs? No clue.- droid23

Foobar2000 output settings unclear
Hello, is there someone who can explain to me what the following Foobar output settings do? I usually know a few things about it and I think I have basic understanding of it, but after researching the interwebs before my post here, things became more unclear than before.
