In Raal 1995 Immanis/Magna thread is an interesting comparison of Susvara Unveiled and Immanis concerning the "thruthfullness" of sound reproduction related to good/bad recordings and masterings. It's a comment review of a listener for both of these. This is clearly a subjective case of values...- Majuto

When transparency is the goal, the bass has to be adjusted for more prominency in the sub bass I guess. Otherwise the mid- and upper bass prominency makes less room for transparent mids and highs. In this case the sound is rich and full, but not very transparent and reference type.- Majuto

Thanks for your honest comment. I just took a walk and was just thinking the one headphone that I could recommend for almost everyone. You shot this anyhow down, quickly. Maybe the "brutally honest" pro headphones are merely your piece of cake?!- Majuto

You'd propably like Austrian Audio's The Composer which is very transparent and neutral, suitable for studio work, but not at all fatiguing. It sounds great with different types of amps and dap's. In this aspect it's almost an opposite for picky and power hungry Sus or SusUn.- Majuto

THE COMPOSER OPEN BACK FLAGSHIP by AUSTRIAN AUDIO
Compared to the estimated production costs many totl headphones are hugely pricey. Market behaviour determines of course the prices, if new top headphones don't sell well, the prices should come down to cover the RD expenses. E.g og Susvara has had exceptionally long lifespan, it has sold well...- Majuto

As you bought Immanis, you approved it's price tag. I guess Immanis is priced in line with og Susvara, as many buyers propably already have Star 8 silver cable and transformer box(if needed) so the price is about 7800-7900 € of which you propably get a nice best price offer. What I've read...- Majuto

Great definition of Ca-1a bass. With the basic Raal cable it's punchy, but the bass articulation and overall quality could be better. To hopefully make bass more articulate and a bit tighter I decided to order Star 8 mkii silver cable. We'll see how it works. I guess Magna and Immanis makes...- Majuto

Possibly this discussion could help some interested Grado or Raal potential buyer in their decisions also. It would propably need another thread, but who knows. Nice to hear your happy end with Grado GS3000x. Luckily e.g new Raal Magni and Immanis also bring "quite affordable" older models for...- Majuto

I guess in some listings 6se is harder to drive than Raal Ca-1a, anyhow Raal needs usually vol 56 with Aune. Propably this is a current/voltage thing again.- Majuto

Sus undoubtedly is one of those headphones, which scales almost limitlessly with amplifiers and dacs. On the other hand many sus owners seem to be truly happy with their affordable amps with enough power. It's so very subjective.- Majuto

THE COMPOSER OPEN BACK FLAGSHIP by AUSTRIAN AUDIO
I think we've discussed about this theme sometimes earlier too. Blindly buying is surely a risk. Sometimes it's practically the only option anyhow. I got about a month ago a chance to buy Raal Ca-1a ribbon headphone with a really nice price. And so I did, blindly, because no Raal dealers in...- Majuto

I was just thinking the bass. Sus easily sounds loud enough, but possibly not balanced and full. Just what I've read, no experience of this.- Majuto

We should know the amp(s) used in this comparison. Suzy is well known for her pickyness. I guess Sus Og or Sus Un might sound really lean with certain amplifiers.- Majuto

Well, I use mostly high gain 50ma. Imo there's a bit more air and instrument separation is slightly better. Anyhow, as you can't decide which is better, the differences ain't big. Propably their slight difference might suit best for certain type of music. I find the 50 ma most time has come my...- Majuto

I've used practically only high gain. I find some difference between 50 ma and 100ma states after Aune's been on 30 minutes or more. Differences are only small anyhow imo.- Majuto

Could you define the parasitic inductance and capacitance. Which values could be considered as low, medium and high?- Majuto

It has to be said Aune is the only amp I've ever had differences in it's behaviour because of cables. One case happened with Raal Ca-1a when I bought an "upgrade cable" for it and oddly the sound level was about 15-18db under what it should have been. I wondered this in Raal Requisite thread...- Majuto

Inductance and capacitance may be shown in cables technical data, but parasitic capacitance and inductance (whatever they mean) propably not. Aune answered that relatively high values of these can cause self-excitation=excess heating and interference??=possible problems. This is good to know...- Majuto

A bit off topic, but anyhow. I had Magnepan speakers in active use, no problems with ribbons except they needed a new glueing for elements after about 15 years. Ribbon headphones are a different construction of course.- Majuto

This is just great. Very good headphones with decent prices. I bought last year a He1000Stealth, used 2-3 months, 1050€ and the starting price a bit earlier was about 3000€. Now Hifiman HE1000Stealt's price is 1399$ I suppose. It would be interesting to know how many he1000 series headphones are...- Majuto

It would be very interesting to hear Aune answering to your technical findings, which might even relate to wider spheres. I don't know how "polluted" or "spoiled" my unit might be, anyhow I like it a lot. It shouldn't anyhow interfere with radio vawes harmfully.- Majuto
