    I have been using the Ibasso PB5 Osprey portable amp with my Nan-7 planar and it fully drives that with bass authority as well. I've been using it chained to my Gustard A22 dac. Such a super slammy combo for planars that need the source-help.

    The Hart Audio concept is just to use a mini-XLR plug and adapters from that. Technically you can request such a set from any company/person out there. Also you can just use a full size 4pin XLR plug and use adapters.

    No idea about the main question. I personally find the Hugo2 needs a little EQ to compensate for its innate playback. Some reducing of the late airy treble extension it has. And a midbass boost for a more punchy sound. So I would vote for the stationary setup that allows for that.

    Avoid ConX swappable connectors. Major point of failure. Also I don't like that it's some cheap brass rather than pure copper. I would suggest the company called AltaluneAudio. And ask to customize your cable and for it to use the OE Audio swappable connectors and plugs, those OE connectors...

    I guess there is always the E1DA PowerDAC dongle. It probably never lost its relevance in all this time. It has a pEQ. If you want, you can use adapters for the Fiio utws5 truly wireless modules and get pEQ to your headphones or IEMs.

    Thanks for clarifying. Oh, by the way if you connect the Hugo2 to a windows PC and use Peace/Equalizer APO you can pEQ out the extra treble air harshness out of the Hugo2 presentation. Works out really great. Also Hugo2 can get quite slammy in the midbass after EQ from Peace/Equalizer APO...

    So much advertising points for the copper of the wire. What about the core of the 3.5mm plugs and the solder? Are the 3.5mm plugs brass-mix cores or pure-copper cores? If not, please invest into the plugs and solder for newer products.

    Final A8000 is a driver that objectively has very little distortion. Also you never mentioned it being a problem in the review write-up. I am confused by your Cons listing point "Distortion at hight volume level".

    Classic solution is to use velcro. Stick the rough side on the Ibasso PB5 and the soft side on the dap (soft side on dap incase you ever use it alone, so it can slip into a pocket).

    And if you are getting clipping at around 3V, and it is not caused from your next device in the chain. Then probably time to replace the 18650 batteries in your Hugo2. That seems how it went for me. I can use Line-out mode with no problem now.

    I've been using this as my desktop amp w/ my Gustard a22 DAC. I turn the PB5 off when not in use, and I haven't found a shift of sound with warm up. After turning it on for a session, I just unplug & replug the charging-cable.

    Yeah, PB5 only made to work with usb-A to usb-C cables. Not USB-C to USB-C. I unplug it and replug it quickly before I start using it so it charges as its in use. I never have had it turn off on me during a normal sitting.
