Cons: Doesn't seem to be changed visually from old model
I decided to purchase the new model UE 900s instead of the UE 900 because of some build quality changed and added accessories. Here is a review of what I received.
Packaging - The packaging is very nice and they fit a lot into the fairly small box. Everything is quite elegant looking
Accessories - There are tons of accessories. There are many sizes of silicon and foam eartips to choose from, including spares of each one. There are 2 different headphone cables (one with a mic and 3 button, one without), a hard carrying case, and some connector cleaning gel
Build quality - What UE has promised that it has improved the build quality, and going to a more unibody design, that isn't what I've seen in my UE 900s. They appear to be exactly the same as the old UE 900 even though their website and picture on the box show differently
Sound - The sound is quite good. They have fairly low lows, and very clear highs. It seems to be a very good pairing with my FiiO X5. These are some of the best sound IEMs I have personally used
There are some other notes I'd like to add for people trying to make an informed purchase. Logitech has been selling the UE 900s with promises of an all blue unibody design, improved build quality, and redesigned bass tube. What I received in my box (as have others on Head-Fi) is the new UE 900s packaging and accessories, but what appears to be the old model UE 900 in the box. Had what I received been an IEM that had the promised changes I would have scored these much higher. I am currently working with Logitech to resolve this issue.
