BUF634P Silk Screen Differences???
It would really help if you could post some pics of two buf634s. The differences could just be from TI standardizing the silkscreen on burr brown chips after TI bought them.- z2trillion

Audible differences between series and latter attenuators?
But even by your arguement, there still shouldn't be a (audible) difference between the ladder and the series version, since, in both cases, the signal has to "push" through the same impedance.- z2trillion

Audible differences between series and latter attenuators?
Just wondering, what exactly causes resistors to color the noise? If its just thermal noise, won't the ladder and series give the same noise, since thermal noise depends on the resistance?- z2trillion

Audible differences between series and latter attenuators?
That won't exactly work, since then all 24 of your volume setting resistor pairs would be in parallel, producing a rather hard to drive load for your source.- z2trillion

input capacitors
what you say does work, since increasing the value of R*C decreases the -3db point. however, when you increase the value of r2, its thermal nose goes up, so there's a bit of a tradeoff there. there's probably some sort of happy optimum, where the noise and bass roll-off are both tolerable, but...- z2trillion

Crossfeed?
It can be worked into an m^3, but it requires some planning, since theres only four holes you could mount it on.- z2trillion

Parallel Resistance Tool
if you flip that eqn, you get x = (1/a+1/b)^-1 = ab/(a+b) , or product over sum. I couldn't get rick's link to work, but wikipedia has the same thing under nomograph:- z2trillion

2 Batteries last longer than 1?
yeah. you're correct. the battery life will be the same (more or less) for two batteries or one battery. the current won't increase. it just goes through both batteries, and since their mAhr numbers havent changed, both batteries will die after the specified number of coloumbs have passed...- z2trillion
