To my ears the Master sounds far better - more coherent, controlled and fulll bodied. The ZS5 are good for the price. I ended up giving the ZS5 to my kid.

It seems to be a common problem with the X5. I was offered by support to test if FW 2.6 Beta solves it. It didn't. This experience will definitelly affect my selection when I'll shop for an upgrade

  Did anything help?   I have the same problem. The response I got from Fiio support is:   "FW2.6 Beta is designed to solve this issue. "   It didn't. They ask to send the unit back to China..   I wonder - when putting the unit in jz4760 boot mode (lower left button while turning one)...
