Bass / Soundstage Under $300
So it looks like I've narrowed it down to the dt990 premiums. The question is, Do I want 250Ohms or 600Ohms and what amp should I get.- Yffum

Bass / Soundstage Under $300
So it looks like the Premiums will be the way to go for me. What didn't you like about the comfort of them though? I really want comfortable cans that I can wear for a long time. The only other headphones I've worn for long periods are the HD25s, which clamp really hard and the beats, which were...- Yffum

Bass / Soundstage Under $300
Quote: Haha, just listened to that on 320p on youtube with apple earphones to see what it was and I almost laughed aloud when I realized that words cannot describe the difference in quality between what you and I are listening to. And beyer's grados sounds pretty good to me.- Yffum

Bass / Soundstage Under $300
Alright, so I think I've come to a decision on an amped dt990. Those look like they really meet my criteria. Does anybody have any recommendations on ohms/amps? Gwarmi mentioned the 600Ohms cans with the Audio GD NFB-12, that looks like an awesome setup, but very pricey. Does anybody have...- Yffum

Bass / Soundstage Under $300
I think I understand how the dt990's bass is now, and the warm sound isn't extremely important. Out of the dt990 and the d2000's, which would you say has better soundstage?- Yffum

Bass / Soundstage Under $300
Thanks for all of the replies, this is really helpful To clear up a few things, I will be using these headphnes at home and possibly with an amp. Right now I just have a Fiio E5 to back up my HD25's, but I'll take any reccomendations if anybody thinks a certain amp is necessary or goes...- Yffum

Bass / Soundstage Under $300
Hi, I'm looking for a second pair of headphones to accompany my HD 25-1's. They're a great pair of headphones and are good for rock, but now I'd like something that's almost the opposite. I'd like headphones with a large soundstage and a bit more warmth and thump to the bass (but still...- Yffum

Hi, this isn't about buying, but its a really simple question, and I couldn't find another place for it. Is it okay to place headphones on a hook like this?: Will it damage them over time?- Yffum

Looking for high quality, lightweight headphones
Well, just got the HD25-1 II's in the mail and they're great! Really what I was looking for; they're a bit tight as mentioned, but hopefully they'll loosen over time. Just wanted to thank everyone for the help!- Yffum

Sorry, zmd, missed your post. That was really helpful and the video showed me a lot of things. I think the HD25-1 II's are for me, because of the bigger earcups, lightness, and the focus more on rock, but I just want to ask a couple things around to see people's general opinions. 1. How...- Yffum

Alright, thanks for the input. The sound quality seems perfect and these might be a nice pair of portables, but I'm looking for something you can sit down and listen to for a day. Any other comments on the comfort?- Yffum

Thanks for all the recommendations, and these look great, but I just want to make sure about something. So these are portable, which I don't really need, but it's not as if it's a problem. I just want to make sure there's no better headphones just following my initial conditions. Does everybody...- Yffum

Thanks for the recommendation, the hd25-1 II's look good. I hear they're good for hard rock and metal, which I do listen to a good amount of, but how are they with classic rock or some more acoustic things?- Yffum
