I'm sourcing parts and building the NwAvGuy's O2 amp. The BOM uses a 5-pole through-hole 3.5mm stereo jack, however I'd much prefer the larger 1/4" (6.5mm) stereo jack. I'm looking through mouser parts, and the positions of 5 legs does not seem like it's available in the 1/4" female jacks.  ...

I'm about to pull the trigger on some Beyerdynamic DT 880 (600ohm). Yes I know, they cost about double the amount that I initially was willing to pay. But I suppose that's a fairly common occurrence on here?   Would my Xonar Essence STX sound card be able to drive such high impedance?

  This one is not even out yet, and there are no reliable review for me to read before making the decision. I tend not to make blind purchases.

The amount of headphone choices are a bit overwhelming, so please list a few models in the $150 to $250 range for me to start my research based on my usage:   I listen to a wide variety of music, including trance, classical, ensemble, symphonic metal, and some mainstream pop. No high end amps...

Oh sorry, I didn't realize that. I just thought maybe someone would want this DAC but not have the equipment or dexterity to make one, so was just curious if you guys also build for people.   I think I'm too new on this forum so I can't go back to delete that post :(
