I have the Caldera and HEKV2 non stealth and they are a great complement to each other. As a quick comparison, I would describe the HEKV2 as being 'vivid' and very open sounding for an open back. It is also very much of a chameleon and the sound signature can change quite dramatically...

I suppose the question is whether or not you have any intention in the future of adding an external DAC? If not then the A8 is a great solution

One thing is for sure. For ZMF to create exceptional TOTL headphones in both open and closed back is a stunning achievement. I don't know of any other headphone company that has managed to do that :)
