Bijou All Tube Futterman Headphone Amplifier
I can answer #2 because I recently had a bad experience with it. During power up, the output capacitor is not charged, and during the 30 seconds or so before it stabilizes, there is DC in the output approx. 60 volts. This is bad. If you have headphones connected, they might not...- walangalam

Bijou All Tube Futterman Headphone Amplifier
Nice build. But smoke is not good. You should power off and check. I hope you got the orientation of your mosfets right, because you mounted them at the bottom, then you should have mounted them facing the other way.- walangalam

Cool. Looking forward to your vid. I got a pair recently for cheap at newegg ($13). Sound is ok but muddy is the right word. What the "blu tac mod"? I also read somewhere about drilling holes to improve the bass.- walangalam

DS1802 Help
I came across some of my notes on this chip. Seems that a pulse rotary switch Alpha SR10030 can be used instead of push buttons. I have not tested this yet, but its available at Mouser . http://www.mouser.com/catalog/specsheets/TW-700001.pdf pricey at $6.40 though... Any...- walangalam

Millett "Starving Student" hybrid amp
Grounding the inputs means shorting the ground lug to the signal lug in the RCA jack. Its like the minimum position of the volume pot, where essentially the wiper of the pot is shorted to ground. But because of production tolerances, its only "almost" shorted, not completely shorted, so there...- walangalam

Are you sure you're not hearing the hiss from your source? Ground you inputs. If you still hear hiss its from the amp.- walangalam

Bijou All Tube Futterman Headphone Amplifier
Quote: If no nfb, dont connect the feedback pot, and change R1 to 300 ohm, as specified in the tweaks section. There is no need for a feedback resistor and I dont recall reading that anywhere in this thread -- could be wrong though, as this is a very long thread- walangalam
