The Qudelix-5K thread
Now you have me intrigued by these Moondrops. I love planar headphones as evidenced by owning a bunch of Hifiman's. $300 for these? Hmmmm... 8ohm? That's weird. 101db sensitivity though, so shouldn't be hard to drive, correct? You're using the Q5 so can't be too bad.- vlad335

OK. It just dawned on me to try something to see if the Q5 is as good as I think it is. I will hook it up to the Adam system that is my gold standard. Starting with the Adam A5X. These very speakers ( Well.. Actually one of them) were reviewed and personally measured by Amirm from Audio Science...- vlad335

I don't hear any distortion and certainly not a bit of noise coming from the Q5. May be different if i hooked these up to my studio monitor setup which the RME is holding down.- vlad335

The Qudelix-5K thread
Well awhile back, I hooked up my 5k to my PC to use it as a DAC to feed a Drop+ SMSL HO150X amp. I wanted to run Hifiman HE-6se headphones which sound excellent but are horrendous to drive. Nothing I have here will drive them properly. Sadly, the Drop amp just dosent have the juice to power...- vlad335

Cable arrived today. Sounds fantastic. Can't plug the 3.5 cable in because the 2.5 connector is too thick. Don't need it anyway. Do the headphone presets work when the 5K is in DAC mode?- vlad335

The Qudelix-5K thread
Thank you once again! Man, Qudelix should make and sell these cables. Im sure quite a few people would want to use the 5k as a dedicated desktop DAC. Would also be cool with the Chrome extension to load different headphone profiles, etc. However, I may just buy the Topping D10 USB. I would...- vlad335

No, two 3pin XLR's on the rear of the unit. https://drop.com/buy/drop-smsl-ho150x Oh boy, my soldering skills are nil. I have a friend who is real good at it, though. Any link to plans on how to wire this up? Bill of materials, etc. Really appreciate the help and quick reply!- vlad335

Question on the Qudelix 5K. I want to try this as a DAC from my PC. Feeding a Drop + SMSL HO150X amp balanced amp. The connection from the 5K would go into the rear panel XLR's correct? I suppose I would need a 2.2mm to stereo XLR balanced cable to feed the amp. Where can I get such a thing...- vlad335

Sorry if this is extremely late but you mentioned swapping opamps to compare sound quality. Did you do this? Just got the Xd-05 plus and trying to decide between the muses02 vs the Burson.- vlad335
