QUAD ERA-1 Thread
Did everything work out for you? I'm in a bit of a similar situation, with the right side no longer working after the headphones took a fall. Now trying to figure out the best way forward.- Utopia

QUAD ERA-1 Thread
Could it be the cable? I had a very similar issue, but the cutting out moved from the right side to the left when I switched the cable around (and so of course it was the cable that was faulty).- Utopia

[FiiO K5Pro/K5Pro ESS]Desktop DAC and Amplifier+768K/32Bit and DSD512 decoding+3 gain levels (K5 Pro ESS (Red Version) Is Available Now)
A very thoughtful design, inside and out. For portable use I have the BTR3, which shares the same trait and is very impressive for its size and price.- Utopia

QUAD ERA-1 Thread
I wonder what amps you all are using with your Quads? I currently have the Audio GD R2R-11 and it's a wonderfully musical combination, but I'm thinking that perhaps the R2R-11 is holding the headphones back a bit when it comes to detail and resolution. Considering the THX-789 as an upgrade for...- Utopia

QUAD ERA-1 Thread
New owner of Quad ERA-1 here. First of all, it's really a very good headphone IMHO. I've had HD800, T1, HEX and a few others, and overall I think the ERA-1 feels as high quality as the other ones and is probably better if one wants a single headphone for all genres (but not necessarily better at...- Utopia

Schiit Eitr impression and USB-SPDIF converters discussion
I have an Eitr -> Audio GD R2R-11 combo. When I select a track with a different sample rate, like going from 44.1 to 96 kHz, my Eitr temporarily "drops out". The power light turns off briefly, and I hear a pop/scratch from my DAC as the next track begins. I know the R2R-11 was initially a bit...- Utopia

Singxer SDA-1 DAC
Has anyone seen any impressions of the Singxer SDA-1 DAC? Should have a solid USB implementation, uses the AK4490 DAC chip, and has balanced output. Seems like a pretty good option.- Utopia

iCAN micro SE – (thanks to Meze - you guys are great!) Things are a rockin.
Is anyone planning on running the iCan Micro SE with HD800? It seems like it could be a very good combination, with a slightly warm sound, and the optional bass boost (speculating here!).- Utopia

Geek Pulse: Geek desktop DAC/AMP by Light Harmonics
I was looking at the iPower for my Geek Pulse as well and came across this new (not yet released) thing from iFi that's supposed to work with one's existing power supply and turn it into an iPower: ...- Utopia

Geek Pulse: Geek desktop DAC/AMP by Light Harmonics
Thank you all. I have probably 50 hours on mine, and I think the sound is still gaining some body. I've been comparing Geek Pulse -> HD650 with Geek Pulse -> Crack -> HD650, and probably the Crack will always add more warmth and bass weight (without the Geek Pulse doing anything wrong in being a...- Utopia

Geek Pulse: Geek desktop DAC/AMP by Light Harmonics
What are the benefits of adding an LPS to a Pulse? I have a vanilla Pulse that works perfectly, but at times I feel that the headphone out is a bit bass-light.- Utopia
