I liked the Velvets but couldn't get them to stay in my ears over time. I think part of that problem stems from me preferring a more deep insertion with the Crimson and the Velvet seems to want to sit a tad outside of that range in my ears. Which foam tips do you recommend?

I still don't believe configuration holds as much weight as it seems. For example, Sennheiser iems all use the same 7mm "TrueResponce" driver from the $150 ie200 all the way up to the $1800 ie900. If you wanted to make this case in the ie900 thread I could understand. But here, in this thread...

Crimson looks to be on backorder in most places as well. Most people who actually buy aren't worried about it.

I'm not sure which thread you are referring to, but I didn't see any talking down or ridiculing in this one.

Symphonium claims they spent 2 years on the Crimson. So Helios price + 2 years of learning + who knows how many prototypes. Do you believe it's that easy to make an iem? Just throw X amount of ba's in a shell and call it a day?

This reminds me of the argument of how much mechanics charge for a specific service vs how long it takes them to do the job. If they can do a 1 hour service in 30 minutes, do you feel you should pay only the 30 minutes?
