Grado Fan Club!
Thanks for the tip of on Massdrop, unfortunately shipping to europe is expensive, adding inn customs, I am back at retail price. Right now I am fighting upgradeitis. I wonder how much heavier an RS1 or a SR225 is compared to the 60. Also which of them is closest in sound signature. I have read...- trondareo

Grado Fan Club!
BuuHuu I broke my Grados! Yesterday the magnet fell out of my trusty sr60 that I have owned at least 7 years, 10? Yrs. Dont remember. Although I have had other headphones, the Grados have never been permanently shelved, and have been used in all sorts of places from Norwegian winter on the...- trondareo

Dismantling the Pioneer SE-L40
There was a lot of crud on my speakers as well but the diaphram is thin and slightly sticky, so I just blew compressed air at a distance where it did not deform the diaphram. The stuff that did not come off, I left there. My thinking was that the pad and metal grill is between me and the crud...- trondareo

Dismantling the Pioneer SE-L40
Sorry Im afraid mine didnt have that cover. The black plastic you se on my pics is on the back of the speaker. The dismantling thread I posted from audiokarma had them so maybe mine has been tampered with and the cover thrown away. It might also be that we have different versions from different...- trondareo

Dismantling the Pioneer SE-L40
Here is another dismantling story that seems to have a black plastic cover inside the headphone shell over the wires. Is this what you have found? httpw://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=224234[/URL]http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=224234- trondareo

Dismantling the Pioneer SE-L40
Great! You got of the pads! Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, i was very busy. I am not sure what you mean by plastic retaining ring for cable? There is a metal clamp around the wire to the plug to stop it tugging on the solder joints. You can just pry it open. I have not worked on the...- trondareo

Dismantling the Pioneer SE-L40
I am sorry to hear that you have problems, The cutouts for freeing the pads do not have much free play to get them out. So you have to find the right spot. Another problem is that it is difficult to get a grip on the base of the pad and you risk tearing the pad cover by twisting to hard, but...- trondareo

Review by 'trondareo' on item 'SanDisk Sansa Clip+ 2 GB MP3 Player (Black)'
This is the best value for weight music player there is! With Rockbox flashed it has plenty of customization and sound quality tweaking options. However the flashing process was a bit scary for a noob like me. It already plays any format you throw at it, so flashing with rockbox is really...- trondareo

Review by 'trondareo' on item 'The House of Marley The Exodus Headphone with Mic in Brown,Headphones for Men, One Size,Brown'
I was plesantly suprised by both the sound and the elastic headband, both of wich have gotten negative feedback on these headphones. Its possible I have gotten a newer revised model of the headband. The sound i a bit warm with aprominent bass. Tha bass is tight though, so they are great for...- trondareo

I'll throw in a new headphone to consider: Fostex T50 RP. I have a pair of these. Thay are quite comfortable, quite noise dampening and have excellent sound. You have plenty of enhancement tweaks availible on headfi forum. ]http://www.fostexinternational.com/docs/products/RP-Series.shtml#2- trondareo

Stanton Dynaphase Seventyfive restoration
Thats a good point about changing the caps. I'd have to do it to the tone controlls too then. I finished the cable exchange a few days ago. I am listening to them now deciding what to do next. There is some scratching on the potentiometers so I may change those as well as the capacitors...- trondareo

Stanton Dynaphase Seventyfive restoration
I´m starting the restoration today. Mice had been gnawing the cable, you could see their little teeth marks, and some wires had been cut, so I need to replace the wire. After searching Ebay, and Mouser, I could not find curly stereo cable, much less in blue like the original, so I have ordered...- trondareo

Audiotex - Anybody know ´em?
Bumping up this post to show another sighting, also to tell what I ended up with in tuning. I am now running the phones with blue-tack on flat surfaces and a piece of felt in the main cavity. The resonances are reduced. With 10 db plus on bass they are listenable. Anyway, here is the third...- trondareo

Stanton Dynaphase Seventyfive restoration
ahh - I see what you mean! By the way I have gotten some flexible blue Ethernet cable from a big local electronics store. They only had grey and white cat 5, but I told the guy what I was restoring and he dug around in the back office for me to find the cable, even walked me past the cash...- trondareo
