I have the Maxxed Portaphile V2^2 as well and use it for travel and I was using it to drive my HD580's until recently. I now use the Ming Da MC66-AE at home with these cans and find I enjoy the Sennheisers more with this amp. YMMV.

I have had this amp now for 2 months and I have been very happy with it. I have also substituted the 12ax7 for various 5751's without rebiasing and have not had a problem with it. I did ask the distributor here in Australia whether this would be alright and they said that it was fine. YMMV.

I bought a regulated power adaptor from Jaycar Electronics and it works fine with my Portahile V2^2

I have the ER-6i and the SF5P's. I prefer the sound of the SF5P's but I do find the ER-6i's are more comfortable and it is easier for me to get a seal. The diameter of the SF5P's feel larger and I find them more difficult to insert.
