K701 thread
Took delivery of my Q701'a a few days ago and initially was listening to them through my ipod and portaphile V2 maxxed and have to say while I could see they had potential, I just didn't get them. No where near as enjoyable as my aged and loved HD580's, they just sounded disjointed. After a...- tanehy

Ming Da MC66AE ?
I have a pair of Sennheiser HD580's that I use with the MC66-AE so YMMV. For what it's worth I used to own the Musical Fidelity X-cans and have auditioned the X-Can V3 as well. I preder the MC66-AE to both these amps with my 580's as I find that the MC66 has better midrange purity. I also...- tanehy

Best <$350 tube amplifier
I have the Maxxed Portaphile V2^2 as well and use it for travel and I was using it to drive my HD580's until recently. I now use the Ming Da MC66-AE at home with these cans and find I enjoy the Sennheisers more with this amp. YMMV.- tanehy

Ming Da MC66AE ?
I have had this amp now for 2 months and I have been very happy with it. I have also substituted the 12ax7 for various 5751's without rebiasing and have not had a problem with it. I did ask the distributor here in Australia whether this would be alright and they said that it was fine. YMMV.- tanehy

IEM Pain question
I have the ER-6i and the SF5P's. I prefer the sound of the SF5P's but I do find the ER-6i's are more comfortable and it is easier for me to get a seal. The diameter of the SF5P's feel larger and I find them more difficult to insert.- tanehy

Etymotic er-6i appreciation thread
I bought my pair of ER-6i's a little over a year ago for use with my iPod when I travel as I seem to spend a lot of time on planes. They provide excellent sound for the money and a major benefit for me is that I find air travel much more pleasant due to the noise isolation they provide...- tanehy
