The Hi-Fi + Hi-Res Audiophiles' Bluetooth Headphone Adapter Thread - [17.Oct.21] iFi GO Blu impression added

Recently went hunting for anything new in the LE Audio space and came across these two products: Nexum Voce Moor Technology/Moerlab MoerDuo Both devices have very similar specs, though the Voce claims to additionally support the lossless MStream MACH codec via its included USB...

    Audeze Penrose X and Penrose

Why not put the electronics in the headband like AIAIAI is doing? Perfectly workable solutions if you venture outside the box. Anyway, I hope we see a successor to the Penrose that addresses all the problems people are having. I'd also like to see: Metal construction at the stress points More...

    Dali Headphones

I've commented on this on the past with sources, here and here for example. Also corroborated by wslee the (former? I believe he's working at Qudelix now) technical director of Radsone.

    Dali Headphones

I have researched it. I wouldn't have posted that otherwise. Tech journalism is rampant with misinformation about BT5 - you need to dig deeper into the technical specifications to understand what it is and is not.

    Dali Headphones

This is only true for devices that use Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). These headphones do not. In fact, it's not currently possible to stream audio using BLE (there's no profile for it). All Bluetooth audio streaming devices still use Bluetooth EDR (Enhanced Data Rate, AKA "Bluetooth Classic")...

    Dali Headphones

Thanks for the input. However the issue is that none of the codecs supported by these headphones can guarantee low-latency operation like aptX-LL and aptX Adaptive can (and I would much prefer the latter as it has the potential for better quality).

Nice. I don't use any Apple products though, so that doesn't really help me.

    Dali Headphones

These seem like pretty compelling cans, though I've decided to lure me away from my current BT setup (using an ES100), whatever I use will need to support aptX Adaptive. I want good quality audio, but I also have a lot of mixed multimedia use (movies, games) that benefit from the lower latency...

    Xduoo XQ-25 Buetooth DAC/AMP

I assume you meant to reply to my post. No, it doesn't. Not for Bluetooth BR/EDR mode, which is what audio transmitters use. Bluetooth actually encompasses two entirely separate modes: Bluetooth BR/EDR (basic rate/enhanced data rate, aka BT Classic), and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). They use...

    Xduoo XQ-25 Buetooth DAC/AMP

FYI, Bluetooth 5.0 doesn't add anything useful for audio transmitters like this. It's pure marketing, nothing more.

    Radsone EarStudio ES100

Right now it's just wishful thinking - Radsone hasn't given any indication of a followup to the ES100 to my knowledge.

    Radsone EarStudio ES100

I don't see why it's too early if we're wishlisting features for a future product. AptX Adaptive was announced nine months ago, and according to the product brief (pdf) several of Qualcomm's SoCs already support it.

    Radsone EarStudio ES100

I second a larger battery (even at a small size increase). Also aptX Adaptive support, and maybe a lower profile clip.

The Hi-Fi + Hi-Res Audiophiles' Bluetooth Headphone Adapter Thread - [17.Oct.21] iFi GO Blu impression added

Reminder that Bluetooth 5 has no effect on sound quality, range, or battery life for headphones or BT audio adapters. The changes in BT 5 only apply to Bluetooth Low Energy mode, which is not currently used for audio transmission. ***** As a suggestion, it might be useful to add battery size...

USB BT 5.0 dongle/device for PC with LDAC and or AptX HD?

There's a LOT of bad/incomplete info about BT 5 out there. Like this article talks about the improved range of BT 5, but fails to mention until the end that it only applies to BLE, which isn't supported by any headphones. So the visual of getting more range walking around wearing your headphones...
