    It definitely added some funk I used a spray can I hot from hobby lobby was hard to find the bold colors I wanted.

    I wouldn't say its necessary, I did it because I like that aesthetic and it helps to hold the para cord in place. its an easy connector to work with has 3 nice soldier pads and the tabs that you crimp down on the cable to secure it. good luck!

    possibly the sound cutting is from the 2 wires shorting out.. not ideal but would definately fix it is is to cut that part out strip a bit and soldier the 2 ends together and put some shrink wrap over it

    not to be off topic but how loud is your office? I find it hard to believe that with some good closed back headphones or IEMs that you would be able to hear anything aside from the music may be a better option if its not crazy loud...

    yes exactly the pcb has internal wiring so all you do is poke the leads through the board and put the soldier on the back side and cut off the excess also make sure to pay attention to polarity on the caps and such sometimes its tricky if your new at that sort of thing.
