    Grado SR*80e pads

I owned some Grado SR-60s a few years ago and the earpads were very scratchy.  I think I recall you could mod or replace the stock pads on models like the 60 and 80.  Can you recommend any replacement pads for the 80e's?

Wharfedale Diamonds 10.1/2 and Diamond 220, Elac Debut B6, or Q Acoustics 3020

I have an Onkyo TX-8255 receiver.  It's currently powering two Fluance SX-6 speakers nicely but I want to upgrade a bit.  Those speakers mentioned all sell between $250 and $300 a pair.  Any suggestions or recommendations?

    Philips SHP9500 for Classical?

How well would these reproduce classical music?  Soundstage, etc?

    Beyerdynamic DT990 (32 or 250ohm) or Philips SHP9500

The Philips is going for around 50 to 60 dollars and gets very good reviews.  The Beyer DT990s sell around 110 to 150.  The 32ohm DT990 is almost 150 new.  Would the sound be that much better on the Beyerdynamic than the Philips?  Both are open air headphones, the Philips has replaceable cables...

Looking for good over or on ear headphones under $100

I am open to any type open, semi-open, or closed.  Looking for mostly classical music, orchestral, solo violin/cello, not so much vocals though I do enjoy vocals in other genre.  Would prefer 3.5mm jack with 6.35mm adapter.  Street price under $100.  Suggestions?

I will be the first in line on Monday to buy one. Also, where do I go to support this through Kickstarter? Will there be a link on your website that will take me to it on Kickstarter?  I want to be ready!

Do I need an amp to use 64ohm earphones with an iPhone 5s?

I am thinking I might be able to turn up the volume so basically they would/could work and with an amp would sound much better, but is an amp absolutely necessary for earphones with 64ohm impedence.?

Need closed circumaural headphones for mostly classical

Hi everyone,   I prefer open headphones but in my home now I need closed.  I know some of that type can have great definition, soundstages, etc.  I don't think they will ever sound like open cans but that is what I need now.   I will be plugging in equally to iPhone 5s and Onkyo stereo amp...

Closed headphones comparable to Sennheiser HD 558s

Well, that's an honest answer certainly but not much help.  What about Audio Technica closed models, 30x, 40x, etc?  Sony MDRs like the 7506?  If nothing close, what are next best options? Maybe less soundstage, maybe less detailed.

Closed headphones comparable to Sennheiser HD 558s

I love my 558s but need something closed, over ear, and comparable (if possible) soundstage and signature that can be found under $100.  I paid $63 for my refurb 558s.  What closed phones would maybe sound as good in that price range?

Review by 'starbux61' on item 'Sennheiser HD 558'

For the money they are extremely comfortable, sound great plugged into my Onkyo TX-8255 receiver playing either music or watching videos from my pc through the Onkyo.  I know you can spend many times more (a little more for ex on the HD 598s) and there are some great phones but for my classical...

Sennheiser HD 558 vs Philips SHP9500?

I agree.  Ordered the Senns.  Too much going on for me right now to order the Philips & swap etc.  The Senns are great.

Sennheiser HD 558 vs Philips SHP9500?

I can pick up refurb of the Senns or new of the Philips phones.  I've heard the Senns and do like the sound.  Have not heard the Philips.  I also will be using a stereo receiver with 1/4" plug so the Senns would also not need an adapter (which I'd rather not have to use).  I think the Senns have...
