Just ordered an Asus Xonar Essence STX to try with the HD600's. It may not be considered audiophile by some but I'm very curious to see how good it will sound considering how simple a system it will be and the bang per buck potential.

OK just picked up a set of almost new HD600's off Ebay for £140 delivered, so thats the cans sorted. Just the amp and or DAC to sort now. The micro DAC / amp combo has been offered to me for £220 which seems a good price. Or would a better amp straight from the soundcard sound better...
