Bit Perfect Audio from Linux
I think he's missing the point in a big way, and I think y'all are wasting your time trying to talk sense into this guy. He essentially think that "bit perfect" audio is some esoteric, mythical thing... it's not. It's very simple. Does it output digital audio at the original sample rate...- spacecase25

Bit Perfect Audio from Linux
Quodlibet would be the desktop app I recommend. LMS would be the full on music server program I would recommend.- spacecase25

PLL is, in fact, used for the USB input. It just locks pretty close to instantly.- spacecase25

Holo Audio Red Streamer
Just tweak squeezelite to use giant buffers and save your money  there won't be any network traffic to "manage" during playback. I can click play, unplug the network, and the entire track will continue to play though.- spacecase25

Yes. Performance will only run one service at a time, compatibility mode will allow multiple to run at a time.- spacecase25

Are their other outputs enabled as well? HQPlayer won't show the NAA output if it doesn't have access to the hardware device. You may also need to have your DAC connected (if using USB) and on the proper input (depending on the DAC), then restart HQPlayer and see if the output shows up.- spacecase25

Using foobar to send file to HQPlayer?
Does it? I don't know much about Window's network stack, but I feel like you would be able to do it on Linux... really? It won't see a localhost endpoint? Does OP have a desktop license? I don't recall reading that, but I may have missed it. Could try it with a trial of embedded and Jussi...- spacecase25

Using foobar to send file to HQPlayer?
Or you can use HQP Embedded with UPNP input as I mentioned above. Shouldn't need to mess with virtual audio cables or other hacks like that.- spacecase25

You don't need to install dietpi or anything else on the red. Just set up a logitech media server, and stream to the red using that. You can also use UPNP, tho that is far more complicated. Installing dietpi & setting up LMS that way turns your red into the server, and you're then not using...- spacecase25

Holo Audio Spring R2R DAC
Just going to chime in here real quick. I, also, use my Spring 3 KTE in NOS mode 99.99% of the time. Truly fantastic sound.- spacecase25

Using foobar to send file to HQPlayer?
You'll need HQPlayer Embedded and to somehow make foobar stream to HQP via upnp. That's how I use it with LMS.- spacecase25
