It ain't lossy. It's just based on the fact that you know beforehands which kinda antialiasing filter is used in the system, and drops out high frequency data which would anyways be filtered out by the antialiasing filter.

MQA seems like a perfect match to HD600. Upper mids are way less shrilling than with PCM so the 3-4kHz peak doesn't bother. With PCM the peak absolutely has to be equalized out.

I strongly question Oratory1990 measurements. They differ strongly from ones on rtings.com. For what I hear on HD600 I believe rtings.com measurements are more correct. I made a mild EQ based on rtings.com measurements and listening which I feel neutralizes HD600 a lot without adding Harman...

Okay, based on rtings.com measurements I developed a simpler EQ, then optimised it by listening, this is what I got. 1: high shelf 870Hz, -0.5dB, Q=0.71 2: analog bell 5700Hz, 5dB, Q=2.3 3: high shelf 50Hz, -10dB, Q=0.59 Output Level 3dB EDM has kick! Midrange still has life. Much preferred...

I went on to buy one of the Senns. In the shop I was especially satisfied with the mids/highs, in comparison to my old modded Logitech G433s. Bass is obviously lacking, and I felt upper mids ever so tiny bit too present. Highs felt slightly soft TBH. I'm driving them with LG V30 with USB Audio...

Any idea what's causing this issue? I get no sound out of any microphone, be it one inside a headset or the phone's own microphone when i plug in anything to 3.5mm. Hifi status app says the headphones without microphone do have a microphone when that isn't true. Switching the quad DAC off...

Any idea why UAPP shows the MQA logo sometimes as white and sometimes as black while streaming Tidal masters? Seems that systematically, albums with white logo sound strangely disconnected but albums with black logo are awesome, far better than standard PCM stream!

On USB Audio Player Pro, if I don't use bit perfect I clearly hear differences between digital filters of quad DAC. If thou I enable bit perfect the differences disappear. Any idea what the filter type is on bit perfect? I have a feeling which it is but any facts?
