i disagree, i think the 580 is noticeably wider

The M50s are not so good for classical or jazz, they are great for what they can do but i dont consider them well rounded at all.  The d1k, the 750dj and the ws70 play every genre very nicely.  The ws70 not so much on classical but for sure nicer than the m50.   the ws70s are more enjoyable...

you are the first person ive ever read about that said the m50 has a wider soundstage than the hd580   im stunned and worried that your 580s are busted, the 580s are immensely wider and more spacious than the m50s lol...IMMENSELY.

Edit:   Just because the M50s have a prominent bass experience does not really mean they are geared for lows more so than mids and highs.  They are monitors after all.  They are fun and play mid range better than most cans out there.  It's supposed to be a fun experience, they are not...

The m50 are geared for rock IMO.  Mid-centered audio.  They are immensely fun.  However, the Shure 840 is still better :)

Well, What about for a Sansa Fuze?  Would I need to mod that as well?  Which one of these LODs for the fuze would work best if i dont need to do anything else to it but purchase the lod and hook it up to my portable amp.   One has a min jack on the end and the other just has the female 3.5...

I think the pads are dreadfully uncomfortable.  Shame because in terms of size and weight, they are divine.  Everything I wanted.  But would have liked a much softer velore and a much nicer bass experience.  If they had that, they would be incredible

the 750 djs are excellent cans.  They play every genre very well and have the best bass experience sub 150$ ( may be bumped out of first as soon as i review the ath ws70 )   but they are great, i had no gripes about them except the earpads which were stiff, but still comfy.
