I'm also in the same boat.  I"m looking at getting a dedicated dap instead of using my iphone 4s.  I was seriously considering the DX50 too, but I'm wondering now if I should just wait for Fiio's X5, or the the DX50's upgrade, the DX90.

My UE-11s were a little over $1000.00 Cayin HA-1A was just under 800.00 and my pico, pred and cd 25.2 were between 450 and 500 each.....

Right now, I'm using the Pico as a DAC/Preamp into my HA-1A, and I really enjoy the synergy. With my Darths, it seems like alot more detail is exposed.
