HiFiMan Shangri-La Jr (New $8000 Electrostat)

In the next booth I auditioned the LCD-4 with the Violectric HPA V281. I thought that setup was quite special. Certainly beat the Shangri-La...

HiFiMan Shangri-La Jr (New $8000 Electrostat)

I listened to the Shangri-la in one Head-Fi's CanJams. My reaction after hearing it and seeing the price tag was like many others there on the day: "Really, is that it?" with a really bemused look. At one point I thought I had a faulty setup.

Sennheiser HD 630VB Review - First Impressions

I thought the pads were very comfortable and are one of the strong points in these headphones. I've been comparing them continuously with headphones worth over £2000 and the difference is very small. Pound for Pound these punch way above their weight. Fantastic value.

Sennheiser HD 630VB Review - First Impressions

I too, listened to them through the Mojo and sometimes I add the Fiio E12 if you want to push the bass to the extreme limit. The Mojo makes a significant difference, the highs really start to sparkle.

Sennheiser HD 630VB Review - First Impressions

I've listened to these for about a week now. They are massively underrated.   The build quality is fantastic and come in a nice case, these would have been a 10/10 if they had a detachable cable.   Sound quality wise they took me by surprise. These headphones can compete with ones worth 3...

Sennheiser HD 630VB Review - First Impressions

Just bought these brand new for 290$. I wanted a headphone that I can take on holiday with me as my holy grail of headphones, the $2200 Pioneer SE Master one stay safely at home.   Will provide a review when they arrive.

    Pioneer's First Hi-End Headphones: SE-Master 1

Speaking of buying a second pair, I'm so afraid that one day Pioneer might stop making them and mine breaking that I want to have a spare just in case.

    Pioneer's First Hi-End Headphones: SE-Master 1

I've never heard headphones control highs as good as the Pioneers. It's incredible how refined they are.   In fact across the spectrum they have this powerful, luscious sound but controlled. They can handle anything you throw at them.

    JVC HP-DX1000 Owners Unite!

When I compared the SEM1s to the HD800s, i found their soundstage to be similar but SEM1s have much more bass and sub bass. The HD800s also sounded veiled in comparison to the SEM1s, hence why every one who listens to the SEM1s describes them as having clarity, definition and vividness.   I...

    JVC HP-DX1000 Owners Unite!

If you can somehow save up and stretch your budget to the Pioneers then you won't regret it.   Yes you are paying almost double the price and the JVCs are closed back but the Bass and sub bass, midrange and treble on the Pioneers is a massive step up, and that's just the beginning. The...

    Pioneer's First Hi-End Headphones: SE-Master 1

Speaking of great tracks that sound great on the Pioneer SEM1.   I get goosebumps when I listen to these track on it:   Track 1:   From the album Hurry Up,We're Dreaming ------------------    M83 - Midnight City [FLAC]   The song ends on with an epic saxophone solo played by Fitz and...

I'm not sure what you're trying to get at here. Are the SEM1s any good then?
