I just got my first DAC + Amp Fiio e17k and i cant run it with my zenfone 5 2GB RAM version. Tried using an usb OTG cable with the stock fiio usb cable but nothing shows up in my zenfone 5. Does usb audio need some special wiring or firmware/apps? I'm currently running Kitkat 4.4.2 Rooted.

So I've decided to recable my Fake IE8 that I bought for ~$20. Recabling cost me about $5. I cant find any better cable wires near my location so i don't have any choice but to use these cheap cables. 

Using Google Play Music. Better UI than Samsung Player. Less resource usage than PowerAmp or Neutron.  Also it is perfectly compatible with VipersAudio app for rooted android. VipersAudio is the best EQ i found so far. I suggest you guys try it.
