Sony XBA-N3AP and XBA-N1AP — Impressions thread
Yes, avoid the Z5 for sure then. These, NEEDS PEQ 100%, stock tuning is garbage but with PEQ (I use my own target for it) it is my favorite iem (alongside the EX1000). If you dont want to use PEQ, get the XBA-A3, if you like the N3 smoothness in treble but want higher quality bass with less...- RikudouGoku

Sony XBA-N3AP and XBA-N1AP — Impressions thread
Guess I will also share my thoughts about the XBA-A3. The A3 is like a mix of the N3 combined with the EX800st/EX1000, so it has a tighter and faster bass and a bit less than the N3 but a similarly smooth treble although not as much upper-treble air as the N3. Compared with the Z5, despite the...- RikudouGoku

Sony XBA-N3AP and XBA-N1AP — Impressions thread
Yes, got both. Z5 has a darker treble, less vocals and more bass quantity that is also slower/looser, it has a deeper stage but overall is a bit too dark for me. N3 is like the perfectly balanced iem, despite it having a decent bass boost, it is balanced out by the airy upper-treble, timbre is...- RikudouGoku

The stock form of the EA1000 is even worse than the modded one. Due to the much too bright tonality. But yes, dampening the nozzle too much will affect the technicalities (detail mostly) due to FR having a major affect on those factors.- RikudouGoku

Hey @Erick Flores thanks. I have not heard anything that is similar to it in the iem world, however, you should check earbuds out as they are going to be much closer. (hint RikuBuds Grand Archer 1 hint.)- RikudouGoku

2024-02-05: Tangzu Tang Sancai Wide bore: Similar to the narrow bore version except this has slightly more mids, a bit less bass but also smoothens out the treble and reduces it more in comparison. Very different from usual wide bore tips as they tend to increase treble. If you have an iem...- RikudouGoku

Thanks, i still consider myself semi-retired but do accept samples if they are interesting to me or if enough people beg me to try it. Like the Kiwi Ears Quintet I now have on the way. :joy: Generally, it be stuff that is on the brighter side and has a thinner note-weight. Compared to say, a...- RikudouGoku
