Audio Power Supplies - PART3 - SMPS, LPS. SuperCap, Battery, DIY route. New devices opens up new options.
I read the initial pages and see the focus here is on an alternative/upgraded PSU for Recovery, Reclocker and Wyred. Would any of these PSUs work for an Auralic Aries Mini? Which 'off the shelf' units would be comparable or better than the Auralic upgraded PSU - for less than their $299 price...- ReelDeal

The ZMF Omni name change contest and sale
APHAPH - this is the Hebrew word for 'surround' or 'encompass.' It is pronounced: a-faf. The "a's" could be either long or short. (I like long)- ReelDeal

Looking for an open-back headphone that excels with vocals and is dynamic...
I'm not very familiar with the Philips phones. ... I have seen some reviews that say the Sennheiser's are not as dynamic as other phones. I'm wondering how much of that was amp related.- ReelDeal

Great review. I am looking for a mid-fi open back headphone to compliment my ZMF Blackwoods. (Most of my time is spent in an environment where I need closed phones, so I spent more on those than I can currently afford for an open set) I have been looking at the: Hifiman 400S, Sennheiser 650 or...- ReelDeal

Looking for an open-back headphone that excels with vocals and is dynamic...
Thanks so much for the input. I will check out the various models. I had heard the Senn 650's weren't very dynamic, but I do have a good amp. I had the AKG K7XX. It was a little bass-heavy for me. Definitely when it comes to bass, I want quality vs. quantity. ... Thanks again!- ReelDeal

Looking for an open-back headphone that excels with vocals and is dynamic...
I have been building my headphone system. I had to start with closed-back phones b/c my wife and I both work from home out of the same office. I have ZMF Vibros. They are fantastic! They have hooked me on a midrange that almost brings you to tears when Norah sings! (not to mention, Keb Mo, Joe...- ReelDeal

Bifrost Input Options
I am getting a multibit Bifrost. I have a Wyred4Sound Recovery (one of the upgraded models that works with the Bifrost). I was going to go USB out of my Macbook Pro into the Recovery, into the Bifrost. But then I read that the USB input on the Bifrost isn't as good as the optical or coax. I can...- ReelDeal

Looking for a DAC...
I have Vibro-tuned Blackwoods from Zach at ZMF and a Taboo MKIII from Steve at Decware. (Both fantastic pieces of gear and even better guys to work with) Now I'm ready for comparable DAC. I'm going to go with used to keep the cost down. I'm trying to keep the price below $600. I'm setting it...- ReelDeal

Tube amp powerful enough for 32 ohm ZMF Blackwoods?
Zach's favorite tube amp is the Decware Taboo. Decware had 10% off on Cyber Monday, so I took the plunge. 8 weeks to audio nirvana!- ReelDeal
