FiiO Mont Blanc/E12 portable headphone amp, 880mW, slim design, full metal case. Bass boost and Cross feed!
By slow - I mean it takes longer than I'd like to start streaming a track or to search music. This is definitely a processing issue and not net speed.- R300

FiiO Mont Blanc/E12 portable headphone amp, 880mW, slim design, full metal case. Bass boost and Cross feed!
Can anyone suggest a modern phone/tablet that will work with the e12 (ie analogue line out)? I'll be using it to stream music as well as play from memory. I've been using my ipod touch 4G its processor is slow by modern standards. Failing that - are there any modern DAPs than are compatible...- R300

Feeding a Rega DAC with a portable player
I've searched but can't find anything on this. My system: *source* > Rega DAC > Ben Duncan Phones01 > Markl D7000 Feeding the DAC from my CDP or even xbox everything sounds great. However, I'm wondering if there is any portable player with an output that I can run into the DAC. ...- R300

iPod Touch 4th gen as a source?
My wife has an iTouch 4g and I've tried the LOD into my portable amp and triple-fis. Pro: - Bass is tight with great exension - Bass, mids and highs well balanced - Good instrument separation Con: - At first you think it's very detailed, but after repeated listening, detail...- R300

i need an mp3 player that looks like a cd player or cassette player
A lot of Sony D-NE and D-EJ walkmen can read MP3 CDs and also have their own proprietory compression called ATRAC. You can still get them quite cheaply on amazon (avoid private sellers asking silly money). I have a D-EJ 985 and use mine quite a lot for CDs I can't be bothered to convert. ...- R300

Modern pmp with "proper" line-out
I've searched and found no up-to-date conclusive information on this. My Kit: Rio Karma (stolen) > custom portable amp > triple-fi My Rio was an excellent player, but since I got pick-pocketed in London, I'm in need of a replacement. I'm looking for a player with a proper line-out...- R300

High end iem advice please
I'm placing to get a new set of custom iems or maybe a top end set of universals. I'm looking for something with great top end extension, like the er4s and deep tight controlled bass, again with lots of extension. PRAT is important too. The triple.fi, driven right, has the sort of bass I like...- R300

android vs. iphone for sound quailty?
My experience: iTouch 4g (jack): Just about listenable, but on a "premium" product I was expecting much better. Archos 43 Internet Tablet (jack): Better than the iTouch, but breaks up if you use EQ and pump the bass to much. Surprisingly good treble extension. iTouch (line out)...- R300

Have you tried the triple.fi with foam earpieces? Moving from the silicone pieces to foam reduces the highs, for me anyway. Quote:- R300

Driving with Headphones
I've experimented driving with my iems in, and actually found myself consciously checking my side windows and mirrors more frequently. NB I drive a bank vault on wheels (Merc) which is pretty well sound isolated. _Possibly_ for motorway (high speed) driving, having iems with the sound at...- R300

I have a feeling your source equipment may be making it hard to find the sound you want. I have found no consumer iem that matches the triple-fi for the combination of bass presence, extension and timing. The real evidence of this is in the bass SLAM (hopefully you know what I mean), that is...- R300

Matrix M-Stage Observations
Thanks for the tip, have been thinking about swapping the opamp on the M-Stage and this has given me more motivation to do so. It will be interesting to see if the K701 still sounds good after the swap.- R300

Matrix M-Stage Observations
I decided to buy the M Stage in the hope it would adequately drive my k701, on the basis "if it doesn't work out, if havent spent much money." However I found the results to be quite interesting. I thought I would say what I found with my different phones, as it appears a partner for the M Stage...- R300
