Rumor: New Sennheiser Flagship to be surfaced ........ soon
It's true that prices for the HD600/650s have changed to the ''bad'' side. They used to be found brand new at 230/280 euros respectively and I think they are currently too overpriced at 400 mark.- pumbaa32

Quote: Thank you, it's great to know how friendly and kind head-fiers are. Actually, I've just found 2 friends who can accompany me to the meet. I don't have much audio gear here to bring with me but I'll bring my cameras to do some report photos.- pumbaa32

Heed CanAmp Suitable For HD800?
You might want to try the Bravo / Indeed 6922EH hybrid amps, my HD800 has been pairing with a Bravo V1 deluxe 6922EH tube for some time now and i'm more than happy with the sound. No more thin / lifeless sound (of SS amp), everything is thick, bassy and dynamic, way more musical than with any ss...- pumbaa32

Asus Essence One Headphone Amp/DAC (CeBIT 2011)
Quote: Currently owning both the STX and the One, i find the headphone amp on the One while powerful enough to drive almost every headphone, too bassy even when compared to STX's (maybe it's because of the DAC too). The volume knobs feel very low quality on hands and the headphone one has...- pumbaa32

Senn HD800 Cable Replacement: Any Benefit from a New Single End Cable?
Quote: I never really loved the HD800 with SS amps even when paried with top tiers one like SPL Phonitor, Beta22, the treble is too annoying and the mid seems thin. Personnally i think that the HD800 needs a tube amp to really shine, even with the Bravo V1 deluxe amp with 6922 russian...- pumbaa32

Anyone gone back to using Dynamics from STAX?
I've always been a fan of Stax but always been using both dynamic and stax too. To my ears, compared to the 207->507 (paired with 323s + 006tS), the hd800s render a bit more detail and being less confusing in some passages in classical/movie score music. So yes, i can be going back to...- pumbaa32

Whats the secret behind the LCD 2's popularity here?
Quote: My experience is similar as yours. I've been trying to love my LCD2 (rev2) but after trying it from different amps and sources (auditor, phonitor, little dot mk7, RSA B52...) they still sound like a closed can, lack of airyness and not always that clear. I also notice the...- pumbaa32

Sennheiser HD800 Appreciation Thread
Quote: My pair was an early production too (21xx), at first 50-70h they did have shrillness and thin-body in their sound, but after 150h my pair sounds much better. Except for rock music, i would take the hd800 over my LCD rev2 (and my old rev1 too) any day on any amp i owned or had a...- pumbaa32
