emotivas new stealth 8 powered monitors any impressions?

I have a set of Stealth 8's alongside a pair of JBL SLR308's. I got the JBL's because I love the imaging of their waveguide tweeter design.   The Stealths deliver the bass, though and the JBL's sound thin by comparison, but together they absolutely rock!     I have a pair of SVS...

emotivas new stealth 8 powered monitors any impressions?

Disclaimer: This is not meant as an attack, but rather as needing to put someone (who is near-trolling this thread and then trying to pawn it off as being sincerely concerned) in their place. Also, I am not an Emotiva 'fan', per se. I only own two of their products: Stealth DC-1 and...

emotivas new stealth 8 powered monitors any impressions?

Regarding the LSR4328P, you're neglecting one important fact:     Frequency Response +/-1.5 dB: 50 Hz – 20 kHz     The frequency response is nowhere close to the Emotiva in terms of low end extension.       Amplification 150 w/ 70 w   Nowhere close to the Emotiva...

    Emotiva Stealth DC-1 DAC

Hi,   Just got the Stealth DC-1, as was not satisfied at all with running RCA's from a PS3 to a PV10AT mixer. Muddy sound and no real low end (35 foot run).   With the Stealth DC-1 running TOSLINK Optical in Fixed Mode (avoids movies sounding overdriven) and demoing Tron: Legacy, I'm happy...

I commented before and I'll elaborate:   "Main drawback is load/efficiency. In my experience these can not be adequately be driven by either a laptop sound card or by an MP3 player, even the powerhouse Cowon D2. I have a Turtle Beach USB DAC/amp at work, and a Total Airhead for travel. Without...

    The Greatest Closed Headphone thread

I have both. The 770 are brighter with better midrange and wider soundstage and presence. The C1P sound great on their own, though, and are more of a bass hunter's wet dream with their low end response (with ports wide open). Most will opt for the next to last port position for general...

    Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80-Ohm Thread

They sound fine through my imac/iphone, but I'm powering them generally with a Scarlett 2i2, which, if you believe in the 1/8 rule, would seem like a near perfect match for these as the outgoing impedence is rated at somewhere close to 10Ω.

If the mids on the 770 were any less recessed they would be overpowering like on the Sennheiser cans I've tried. I don't understand why everyone seems to think that in-your-face mids = better sound. The mids on the 770 are nicely balanced with the entire sound spectrum and are both very present...

An iphone 5s or an iMAC can drive the 80ohm version just fine and sound great doing it. Now, I'm not so sure about an ipod -- that might have a lower quality DAC/amp for all I know.

Not necessarily you don't. I demo'd the 880 semi-open model and found the bass far too absent. They just don't do it for me. I imagine it's even worse with the 990. The 770 have similar clarity to the 880 from what I heard but much better drive and detail on the low end.

one note bass? sucked out mids? man you must be listening to something different because the DT770 have great mids (and great overall frequency response and balance). The bass is very defined and smooth, hardly what one might call a 'one note whump'. I've compared these to over half a dozen...

    Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro Review

I'm actively listening to the COP (right now) after comparing against several other models. What I look for in headphones are detailed sound with the ability to punch me in the face on the low end. It's hard to find headphones that do both well. The Monster Inspiration are a...
