Sennheiser HD 598 Impressions Thread
Recently paired the HD598's with a Fiio E11 amp and LOD. To be honest, the difference is not very noticeable. Although I'm not a very experienced audiophile, I feel like with most headphones, amping is somewhat of illusion. The driving is a bonus, but the 598's already drove pretty well. In...- point3six

"AKG K340 Electrostatic Dynamic Systems" used pricing?
Unexpectedly stumbled across these headphones at a friends and he gave em' to me for 10 bucks. I saw that they were AKG, which automatically heightened my interest. After doing some brief reading on my iPhone, I decided to make the purchase. I couldn't find any definitive price as they seem to...- point3six

Jazz for beginners
Quote: Esperanza Spalding and Robert Glapser come to mind as far as rising talents and ish produced in the last 10 or so years. David Holland's Hands (2010) is a phenomenal album. Charlie Haden Nocturne is superb. -
recommend me more jazz like this please!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6Dxl_mxwEM ^I mean the jam regardless of categorization foreal. And Nuyorican Soul comp. is real solid acid jazz/house type music. Vocals, vocals, vocals http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Grd2GL-Ar9o&feature=related (with Roy Ayers) and George... -

Side Effect is that illness. Honestly, that track somewhat reminds of some of EWF's laid back jams (The first track mentioned) -

Great places to check out new music - contribute to a list
http://www.thewordisbond.com/ Nice resource for new hip hop releases, solid reviews, good following. I also have found some real dope tracks in their player to the right. I haven't check it out much lately, but looks as if the music player itself has changed some, still good resource for... -

Sennheiser HD 598 Impressions Thread
Hey ya'll. Just recently purchased a pair for myself and am anxiously waiting for there arrival. I will be pairing them with a LOD and a FiiO E11, but those won't ship in until later. Although I've really already done the research I've needed, I'm curious to know if any other HD598 owners...- point3six

How noticeable would a FiiO E11 amp be with HD598's or comparable pair of headphones?
I also have never used an amp before, so I'm just curious if something like that would have more than just minimal improvement. People act as if amps unleash headphones in general. How noticeable will it be for someone just looking for a strong driver, detail, vast soundstage, bass improvement...- point3six

Explain portable setup... What is needed?
So I'm looking into this whole idea of amping up. Right now I have HD25-ii's and Grado SR80i's and I'm considering getting another headphone with a large soundstage (HD598 hypothetically). I figure if I went that route I would need some sort of amplification to maximize the headphones ability...- point3six

9th Wonder appreciation thread
Quote: Yeah, I'm real down with The Minstrel Show, although it's hard to say whether I like it more than The Listening. The Wonder Years was pretty "eh" in my opinion with a few fire tracks (Band Practice being on point). But yeah in general it is hard to f wit 9th's ability to flip a... -
