The Centrance HiFi M8 thread
Thanks for the tip, I was putting mine @24/96 and it did not play. Seems that it only works @24/192 in mixed mode now (ASIO still can play at any frequency). Which is perfectly fine in my case.- placebo-fi

So is the HifiM8 fully balanced from the DAC output signal onwards, or is it partially balanced (convert single ended DAC line level signal to balanced signal via a (differential?) balanced amplifier)?- placebo-fi

FAQ and Advice of X3
My post over the other thread was skipped over somehow, here's a repost: Hey James, I have a bug to report, not sure if this is the right thread but here goes. For my multi-disc albums, I usually name my files as 1.01 [song title], 1.02 [song title], ... , 2.01 [song title] and so on. It...- placebo-fi

Quote: A quick example that I could think of would be a Rockbox'd DAP like Clip+ or iPods. There's a Menu item called "Playlist Catalogue" where you can access the m3u and m3u8 (UTF-8 version of m3u) files in the "Playlists" folder. I usually create m3u8 files from foobar2000 or...- placebo-fi

Are output impedance in single-ended and balanced mode different? I have read that balanced amps often double the output impedance.- placebo-fi

Hey Michael, for the Hifi-M8 version with the 3.5mm/toslink combo jack, does the optical output works with a computer source? I would like to use the Hifi-M8 as a USB to Toslink converter to feed my receiver, if possible.- placebo-fi

Here's a cheaper custom option from BTG-Audio: http://btg-audio.com/webstore.htm#ecwid:category=3351504&mode=product&product=14274706 Having bought a Starlight CIEM cable from Brian, I can attest to the quality of his SPC wire: very flexible, great looking, and sounds great as well.
