About amping, I don't think that an amp will make them sound a lot better. Depends on what you call a lot better, though. Out of my 0404usb they are impressive, and while the experience is less convincing with the Fuze, they still sound very good.   On the other hand the GR07 will easily...

Nice! How would you compare the bass and treble presentation to that of the DDM / RE0 ? I imagine RE0 is more treble-focused but what about the very small hint of edginess in the lower treble you mentioned ?

Thanks for the heads-up. Nice spec sheet    I understand now why they state 1964-D is great for vocalists and guitar players when I see the 2kHz peak in its frequency response.   I think I'm going to start saving for the 1964-T, The Quad would probably be too bassy for my taste.
