M50s overrated?
Add me to the "M50 is incredibly overrated" list. Until I tried it out myself I couldn't believe headphones this muddy and devoid of any soundstage can somehow sell for an incredible $140 when I have $20 Xiaomi Pistons 2 that beats it in overall SQ hands down. IMO most of the "M50 is the...- Palladium

What if the audio critic is completely right? What would you own?
If I had found out how good the measurements of the Behringer UCA202 are by nwavguy earlier I wouldn't have even bothered spending ~$100 on Hifimediy DACs to hook up speakers.- Palladium

cables are placebo
Scientific instruments demand infinitely more sensitivity and accuracy than the human ear yet somehow they work fine without magic cables while RMS AC voltage fluctuates ~10V during the day without any power conditioners. Yet absolutely nobody in the testing field ever asks whether they make...- Palladium

Audio Technica ATH-A900X Discussion Thread (Formerly A-900X Review)
I nabbed an A900X for $150 shipped on Ebay, closed type, soundstage and neutrality was top priorities and the price was just too good to try it out in a shop before making a purchase decision. Strange they don't get as much attention as the IMO awful M50 despite similar market pricing.- Palladium

cables are placebo
Audiophile logic: more expensive is always better because no one in this planet will ever be ripping me off. *newsflashes to how a $20K pair of speakers measures horribly when tested and get disliked in DBTs*- Palladium

Are Studio monitors the right decision when I am not interested in creating music?
Rokits are notoriously bass heavy. LSR305/308s are no slouch in the bass department either.- Palladium

Swan M50W 2.1 v/s Swan M10 2.1 v/s Audioengine A5 2.0 Review
From my first-hand experience, sound quality wise in an untreated small bedroom: JBL LSR305 ($300) > Swan M10 ($80) > Acoustic Energy Aego M 2.1 ($200) > Wharfedale 210 + Trends T-amp ($300) >>>>>>> Klipsch Promedia 2.1 Think of the M10s as a LSR305 without the wide imaging, slightly...- Palladium

Reply to review by 'palladium' on item 'Swan M10'
I never heard of the A2s myself, but I will go out on a limb to say the M10s are possibly better simply because the satellites have bigger woofers than the A2 let alone the subwoofer unit. The real answer is where do you live? In the U.S I won't consider both when decent passive bookshelfs and...- Palladium

Review by 'Palladium' on item 'Xiaomi Pistons 2.0 MK301'
To reiterate what others have been saying this pair of earphones: The overall sound quality is astounding, the soundstage and separation is phenomenal, the build quality and packaging is world class. It even has a integrated mic and volume controls to supplement your phone! I liked them SO...- Palladium

Review by 'Palladium' on item 'Swan M10'
Like many others, I was very skeptical about the Swans M10 2.1. How can something that retails for only around US$60 in China get such rave reviews in the Internet audio circles? So I bought one to check it out, after all it was only US$80 from where I live. Sure, it has wooden enclosures...- Palladium
