SONY IER-Z1R
I’m in the position where I can only get a good seal with L or LL tips and at the same time that is a deep fit. With anything smaller I can’t get a fit at all and there don’t exist a tip that is large enough for me to get a shallow fit. But then agsin I have a very large ear canal and cavity...- nc8000

As my son has now decided that he want to keep and buy my Z1R I have the Slappa transport case, the Lavri Grand 4.4mm balanced cable and the ddHiFi 4.4 to 4-pin xlr spare and want to sell it if anybody is interested. It has cost me over $800 including vat and shipping and I would like to get at...- nc8000

I use this. Only drawback is that you have to remove the cable and place it in the middle- nc8000

The Continuation Of The Sony Walkman 1Z/1A Thread!
Have not listened yet, still in burn in process. I’m doing burn in for @gerelmx1986 while he is on Holliday and will send it to him the end of this month. At about 120 hours so far. Mine is a 1Z but with a 2.5 modded 1A board as my original board died in a battery leak after the first mod...- nc8000

Yes it requires soldering and removing of the faux leather back with a heat gun before you can access the screws to remove the back plate- nc8000

Sony Z1R....listening impressions only
After not using my MDR-Z1R for over a year I have now passed them on to my youngest son (30 years old) and he absolutely loves them for gaming and movie watching (he hardly ever listens to music). He say they are SO much better both for sound and comfort than any headset at any price he has...- nc8000

Sony Walkman custom firmware (non-Android)
I’m pretty sure it will not as I don’t think the analog pins are active on the WM port just like they are not on the 1A/1Z and ZX300- nc8000

As far as I know there is no true line out possibillity with the A55. Some of the older Walkman players allowed line out from the WM port but I don’t believe the A55 offers this so the best you can do is from the headphone out- nc8000

Sony Z1R....listening impressions only
I only listen to music never movies. Part of my choice is that I generally prefer iem’s to full size headphones but I just generally prefer the IER sound. I must admit I rarely analyze my gear or break it down, I just see if it gives me enjoyment when listening.- nc8000

It needs to have the correct tags in metadata to be recognised. There is a tool I think on the mqa web site that will analyze flac files and add the correct tags- nc8000

SONY IER-Z1R
It certainly does affect the sound to me (though not dramatically) and I would not call it thin, it is thicker than the stock cable and more flexible. It is an 8 wire cable. I paid €300 a piece including shipping for my 2 Blanche cables and to me that seems a fair price, even cheap compared to...- nc8000
